In 2008, John McCain's campaign team discussed whether they should let Sarah Palin be sworn in as vice-president if they were to win the election, according to campaign staffer Nicolle Wallace. "There certainly were discussions -- not for long because of the arc the campaign took -- but certainly there were discussions about whether, if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in," Wallace tells Time's Claire Suddath. In her new novel, It's Classified, Wallace has a character -- a mentally ill female vice-president -- which she says is based on her experience working with Palin.

RINO’s are commies in disguise.
If this is, in fact, true it speaks volumes about what kind of person John McCain is at his core. Use the woman to light your campaign on fire and carry you over the finish line, then dump her like last week’s garbage.
I’m sure that would have gone over well.
Other than sn executive order issued minutes after his own inauguration, I cannot find where the president has the authority to deny the swearing in of a duly elected vice president. The VP has constitutional authority quite apart from the President including her role as president if the Senate.
Nicole Wallace = hateful, lying bitch!
How does she think she could stop any elected official from being sworn in to office?!
LOL and replace her with that other chick Lindsey Graham or Lieberman no doubt.
This is pure BS. It’s all a smear by Nicole Wallace. She’s a POS. And I hope Hannity bans her from his show going forward.
After SHE nearly won the election for him before he went and blew it with that stupid decision to suspend his campaign and voting for TARP. Had they actually tried to keep her from being sworn in, there would have been a massive uprising in this country.
It would be amazing that they were even contemplating something like this since SP was the reason the McCain campaign was even close to Obama. His campaign was “dead” until the day he named her as his running mate.
Exactly. Consider the source. Nicole Wallace couldn’t tell the truth about Sarah to save her life.
I'm thinking, 'irrelevant, yet revealing,' describes the import of the piece.
If McCain had won, team discussed dumping Palin (Top McCain '08 adviser Charlie Black: Not true)

The entire republican establishment needs to be booted out. No qualms about McCain violating his oath of office as Senator (to protect and defend the US Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic) by illegally allowing a forging, perjuring, bribing, treasonous foreign usurper to be inaugurated - as one of the few people whose standing could not be denied by the courts - but these catty b!tches would keep somebody like Palin out of office?
I thought I was incapable of feeling this level of anger and disgust for anybody in the human race.
Not one red cent, and if any of them dares to ask for any support I will tell them where they can go: exactly where their Hellish behavior belongs.
How could they have done that? The president cannot prevent a VP from being sworn in. The VP doesn’t work for the President, this is a common misunderstanding. Actually the VP is a member of the Senate not the Executive.
Sigh! Sarah’s not running, so maybe the MSM will back off their smear campaign against her a little.
Not that I disagree with your view of McCain, but the loathesome, backstabbing human-cockroach here in Nicole Wallace. A truly, truly vile cretin. She did everything from lying to initiating false rumors to the media, undermining the whole McCain-Palin ticket. I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that she voted for Obama.
Her moral character is just barely above that of your garden-variety child molester.
And by the way, this accusation of hers has pretty much been dispelled as a lie.
Here’s a little secret you won’t find in this article, or anywhere else.
Nicolle Wallace did not want Palin on the ticket. Call it chick envy.
It was Nicolle Wallace who set Palin up with the ambush Katie Couric interview in hopes a bad Palin performance would get her kicked off the ticket. Wallace and Couric were friends and they plotted to set Palin up to fail.
Wallace is the perfect example of the establishment elitists who think they should rule the GOP and can’t stand outsiders from the common folk entering into their little ruling club.
With ... geometric logic ... I was able to prove that she had an extra set of keys to the campaign ward room and was, in fact, the strawberry thief. How could you have a person like that sworn in as vice president?
