After suggesting the current Republican primary field is a weak one, former Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson claimed that New Jersey governor Chris Christie is strongly considering a presidential run of his own, despite his many public statements to the contrary.
Even with the rise of Rick Perry into the race, Gerson argued that Republicans are still unsatisfied with the current field of candidates, and dropped the tiniest of bombshells on This Week to Christiane Amanpour.
GERSON: Last week, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey was in Chicago, had two meetings with serious Republican groups from the Midwest
AMANPOUR: Even though he said no no no no no
GERSON: Hes actively, I think, considering getting in this race, which would throw things open once more. But the desire for that to happen, for people like Paul Ryan, who are pushing for this to happen, it shows people are not happy with the current field. They think that it needs to be filled out in important ways.

Hmm...not seeing a lot of credibility there...
But we were told that “there’s no room for anybody else” and that it’s “too late to get in”? Right M(s) Palin?
Palin/Christie....Christie/Palin.....????
He’s not running.
The only reason you see this story today is to draw attention away from Sarah’s speech yesterday.
Oh boy. I wonder if a large number of candidates is a “good thing” for the Republican party. This is especially true when all the candidates think only of their own personal pleasure and power. Some of the defeated could splinter off and divide the vote.
Chris Christie, the gun control advocate..I’ll pass, thanks.
‘Ann Coulter, please pick up the red phone.’
He over estimates his appeal..especially after his pressers during the tropical storm Irene. His whole tone was ridiculous and patronizing.
Just my two cents. I don’t want another arrogant President.
His ego must really be getting to him. Probably accounts for much of his recent behavior.
LOL. Just about the best line of the day. Thanks.

Well said and so true, but the bushies are the liberal republicans who work to destroy conservatism from within and so it is the rinos who want to destroy the tea party and their choice for President.
That particular rule apparently applies to her and only to her. Just like the one that says there’s no good excuse for quitting in the middle of your first term.
That’s it.
