With their Libya bombing campaign dragging on unresolved, France and Britain have been forced to accept ruler Muammar al-Gaddafi may stay there if he quits power, despite calls for international justice.

Britain denied the joint position was a climb-down after it had repeatedly called for him to quit the country, while France last week was the first to openly suggest he could stay under a negotiated settlement.

Daffy has had to be protected from assassination from the beginning, this is the Middle East where the word comes from.
God, these reporters are dumb.

” ... pressure from the French side to try to find a political solution,” said Denis Bauchard, of the Paris-based international relations institute IFRI.

“The British are going the same way as France, who are taking the lead in this matter.”

The French are in their comfort zone now.

I was just reading this.

Luckily Obama had universal approval from the whole world on this, not some stupid "coalition of the willing" like Bush. UN resolution, the Arab League, NATO ... yep, they're all on board with this no fly zone. I mean civilian protection force. Or kinetic military action.

Where's the press with their quagmire stories?

This is a mind game against Gaddafi. NATO members know there is no way the rebels are going to storm and take Tripoli.

France was all gung ho to get in there.

I guess since the US isn’t leading the actions (so that the French can sit on their asses and criticize) they want out.

Exactly what was the intention of our involvement? Has anyone ever articulated it, other than some general humanitarian effort?

It's a g-damn civil war in a part of the world that has them all the time! Why should we give a damn!? And what does any of it have to do with our national interests or even NATO's interests? NATO is a useless relic of the Cold War and should be dissolved.

And I want to ask all the African-Americans why the US hasn't tried to stop the continuous slaughter in the Sudan, Somalia, Congo, and other parts of Africa. Where are you Franken, Jackson, and all you bleeding hearts when needed?

Children are starving and being hacked to pieces every day in your precious Motherland - but you say little to nothing. I absolutely despise you hypocritical liberal/socialist opportunists.
