This poll is laughable. Either the Country is committed to suicide or the results are inaccurate.

Giuliani is a top tier candidate? Palin is statistically tied with Paul?

Was this a poll conducted outside the Fox studios in New York???

Anyone remembers Ross Perot? His supporters gave us Bill Clinton.

You want to see a repeat of that, except Obama is a thousand times worse than Clinton.

Good point.

Anyone remember Team Romney? They gave us Obama.

Does anyone want a repeat of that?

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Is anyone other than me getting pretty sick of all these polls? It's way to early; let's go thru the process and see who survives.

It seems to me the media is just lazy. Instead of looking at issues and positions of candidates, they spend too much time on meaningless polls.

Btw, Fox/Opinion Dynamics has a pi$$ poor track record.

I agree that polls can be and often are all over the place. But this isn’t an Opinion Dymanics poll for Fox.

The Fox News Poll is conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and
Shaw & Company Research (R). The poll is based on live telephone interviews with a national
sample of 912 registered voters, and was conducted June 26-28, 2011 in the evenings.

-"Perry is not a RINO he is pro-llife and fiscally conservative, anti-tax, anti-regulation."

...and he's from TEXAS, talks a big game, and just 'loves' his neighbors next door from MEHICO.

... kinda reminds me of someone else.

McCain got in with crossover primaries, support from the Media and no truly viable Conservative candidate, with apologies to Fred Thompson.

I'd like to see a real primary season with all the undeclared names in the race, as there are a few true Conservatives in the mix this time. If we do see a Perry, a Giuliani, a Thune and a Palin candidacy, sure there will be split votes, not only with Conservatives but also RINOs. Under this scenario, I like our chances.

This has zero chance of succeeding and WHY would you even want to risk it? Simply take over the GOP with the exact same people you will depend upon to create a winning "third" party.

We already have at least 40 so-called "third parties". Isn't that enough? Do you think one more will do it?

The problem for CONSERVATIVE candidates
is that TEAM ROMNEY-SOROS will attempt to destroy them.

Like Sen Thompson.

Like Gov. Palin.

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about early polls, they’re seldom an accurate prediction of the future. About all they are good for is to give political pundits something to talk about.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 912 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide, including 324 GOP primary voters. It was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from June 26 to June 28. For the total sample, it has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Worthless poll. It’s embarrassing how many Freepers buy into these polls. We are supposed to be the smart and savvy ones.

When 82% of the people chose someone MORE CONSERVATIVE

In 2008, McCain lost nearly 30% of the primary votes [attributed to the conservatives], even after he had sewn up the nomination.

At this stage, it is still too early to tell. Gingrich and Hunstman are a 3% each. Some of these guys will have to quit, due to money problems, eventually. Then, who gets those votes thereafter?

Perry might just be 'moderate' enough to pull enough votes away from Romney to make Perry the go-to guy for both moderates and conservatives.

Of course, Perry-Romney-Bachmann could corner enough primary delegates that none would have a clear majority going into the convention. That could make for an interesting convention, if the primaries don't deliver a clear winner.

There is a huge difference between Palin and Thompson. Thompson was a fairly easy target. I think Palin will be an elusive target.

I actually like her odds, even with a Perry candidacy.

Two questions....Why hasn't Perry announced yet? Is he waiting for something?
