The real problem here is the DEFINITION of torture.

"We didn't do it to the Japanese war criminals," he said. "We didn't do it to the Nazi war criminals." Stupid thing for him to say. By the time we had Japanese and Nazi war criminals in hand, the war was over. They were subjected to trials, then jailed or executed.

Per SOP, Juan McLame shows us once again, exactly why he was such a lousy candidate for POTUS.

"And to somehow think we can now withdraw from Afghanistan and not have to worry any more - we're finding out as recently as yesterday that we are having problems with home-grown terrorists. So the struggle is going to go on for the rest of the 21st century."Stay in Afghanistan "for the rest of the 21st century"?!!
Hell no!

No, the real problem here is that McCain is in denial and never admit that torture, specifically water boarding, did in fact provide information that when put together with all the other pieces of the puzzle, allowed for the location and subsequent killing of UBL.

I maintain that the problem IS connected to the definition of torture. My husband was waterbaorded as part of his Navy survival training and does not consider it torture. Also, look at the traditional definition of torture.

"We didn't do it to the Japanese war criminals," he said. "We didn't do it to the Nazi war criminals."
Is he really so naive as to think prisoners captured in the field weren't often tortured to obtain intelligence during WWII? (Or any other war in the history of mankind for that matter?)

If he truly believed that he would muzzle his wife and daughter.

The day John McCain passes on, I will celebrate with the same enthusiasm reserved for the passing of Ted Kennedy.

Interesting ~ had to check the article to see if McCain really said that.
It's like the argument that the atom bomb was racist because we only used it on the Japanese.
That neatly glosses over the fact that Germany was already beaten down and was being carved up by the victorious allies. If we'd dropped atom bombs on Germany we'd, of course, killed our own troops. Japan was still in the war.
I can't imagine why we would torture the Nazi and Japanese War Criminals ~ they were all prisoners and the war was over.
Maybe John ought to check in with his doctor to see why he is having these unusual thoughts about torturing prisoners ~ after the war is over. Could it be a FLASH BACK to the Nam?
