Donald Trump: I'll release my tax returns if President Obama shows his birth certificate

Donald Trump has a deal for the President: He'll release his tax returns if Obama releases his birth certificate.

The billionaire businessman and aspiring presidential candidate laid out the conditions for his financial records disclosure Tuesday.

"Maybe I'm going to do the tax returns when Obama does his birth certificate … I'd love to give my tax returns. I may tie my tax returns into Obama's birth certificate," he told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

Obama revealed Monday that the First Family shelled out $453,770 to the IRS for 2010.

Presidents and potential candidates traditionally reveal how much they pay in taxes, but it's not a requirement. It's unclear just how much Trump - who has been bragging about his personal fortune in recent weeks - is worth.

Trump, who's at the head of the birther chorus, has seen a spike in recent polls. He repeated his doubts that Obama was born in the U.S., a claim that Stephanopoulos immediately blasted.

"George, they've co-opted you. Obviously, Obama and his minions have co-opted you," Trump said.

If the guy isn't really going to run for President, I am all for what he is doing.

If he actually runs, he's a stalking horse for Obama.

Donald Trump works for NBC.

NBC is a wholly owned entity of General Electric.

General Electric pays no taxes. (TIT)

Jefferey Immelt runs G.E. and therefore, owns NBC, whom “The Donald” works for.

Jeffy boy is also bestest buds with one Barak Hussein Obama (mm-mm-mm).

Obama is handpicking his own challenger right in front of our faces and it’s frankly pretty obvious.(TAT)

The billionaire businessman

Trump is maybe, maybe worth $100M. I would bet anyone dollars-to-donuts that Romney has way more $$$ than Trump.

If Trump is going to run for president, he’s going to have to release his tax records anyway, right?

Or maybe he could just have some accounting firm announce that his tax records are in order.

If Trump truly believes BO is ineligible - he should take him on in the Dem. primaries.

He could use his previous financial support of multiple Democrat candidates a huge plus with Dem voters - whereas Pubbies are finding that a negative.

I may be wrong but I think Donald and his partner(Mark Burnett)sell a product to NBC. Don’t think Donald works for NBC.

Sleepy Joe Bite-me gave $5,280 to charities on income of $378K+ - ~a penny for every dollar in income or $100 a week in the collection basket, if it all went to the church.

If he’s so loaded, he should offer to donate $100 million to any charity of Obama’s choice in exchange for release and forensic vetting of his long form BC. I think Obama’s failure to respond to that challenge will open a lot of eyes and start a drumbeat of questions that will force the disclosure. Why would he continue to stonewall on this issue when he could do so much good by simply being transparent? With so much at stake, I think everyone would recognize that Obama had run out of good excuses.

It’s a win-win situation for The Donald. He either exposes the biggest political fraud in history or he at least clears the air, thereby freeing Republicans to talk about the issues instead of something that half the country dismisses as crazy.
