Over the course of the 71 days that Trump has been running, he's picked fights with and picked on his opponents, members of the media, various companies and even NASCAR. Trump has repeatedly claimed to be "the most militaristic person ever." If measured in willingness to start fights, he may actually have a claim to that title.

If you attend any Republican presidential campaign event these days, you are are but guaranteed to hear a voter ask this: “What would you do about illegal immigration?” Florida Senator Marco Rubio was the recipient of this particular, and particularly polite version of the question, and Rubio was ready. As co-sponsor of the most recent stab at major immigration bill, a plan that never got out of congress, Rubio knows this issue is fraught. So fraught, he told the crowd that day in Salem, that talking about creating a legal status for undocumented immigrants, before tackling border security, is impossible....

Donald Trump has jumped to the top of the national polls for the Republican Party's presidential nomination. It's an embarrassing moment for the GOP, the country and the planet. But everyone knows America's richest celebrity businessman will never become the Republican candidate, much less president of the U.S. Unfortunately for the GOP's future, however, the billionaire blowhard is not going to fade away in a week or two like Herman Cain or Michele Bachmann did in 2012. Whether he's really worth $10 billion, as Trump claims, or just a few billion, he has more than enough money, ego and media...

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that “Whenever somebody hears that it was an illegal that was involved with the death of their children, it becomes politically incorrect for a politician to help them” at a press conference on Friday after meeting with the parents of children killed by illegal immigrants. Trump said of the killings, “there’s no reason for it. People came into the country illegally and killed their children. … And nobody wants to talk about it. We just spent a lot of time discussing what happened. And the folks were telling me something that was incredible. Whenever...

Donald Trump continues to stand by controversial comments he made about Mexican immigrants as his standings in Republican primary polls improve despite increasing criticism. The presidential hopeful placed ahead of perceived front-runner Jeb Bush in a new aggregated 'poll of polls' with 13.6 per cent support compared to the former Florida governor's 13.3. The rise comes as public figures and businesses continue to admonish Trump because of the comments saying that those crossing the border from Mexico illegally were 'rapists'. Former Republican candidate Mitt Romney told CNN Saturday that the businessman 'made a severe error in saying what he did...

Donald Trump may be the man America needs. Having been through four bankruptcies, the ridiculous buffoon with the worst taste since Caligula is uniquely positioned to lead the most indebted organization in the history of the human race. The Trump conglomerate is the Argentina of limited-liability companies, having been in bankruptcy as recently as 2009. To be sure,a lot of companies went bankrupt around then. The Trump gang went bankrupt in 2004,too,and in 2001. Before that, Trump was in bankruptcy court back in 1991 when his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City—the nation’s first casino-cum-strip-club, an aesthetic crime against humanity that is...

Donald Trumps' 5 million dollar offer expired at noon today. Being work bound, can anyone check twitter? I think Trump has the goods.

To the list of absolutely crucial wedge issues distinguishing the Republican primary candidates, this week added a new one: What is your position on Donald Trump? In my latest TIME column (subscription required), I look at the latest step in the reality-TV-ification of the Republican primary—Trump’s plan to moderate a GOP debate later this month—and how it reflects the bifurcated race between (for now anyway) “frontrunner” Newt Gingrich and “favorite” Mitt Romney. Gingrich and Romney’s responses to the debate offer showed the difference between their style and their political positioning. Gingrich accepted almost instantly, seeming to relish what a hoot...

The mainstream media are “protecting” Barack Obama’s “unconstitutional” tenure in the White House, refusing to investigate allegations that he fails to meet the Constitution’s requirement that a president be a “natural born citizen,” according to flamboyant billionaire Donald Trump. In a conference call today with reporters, WND asked Trump why, if he believes defeating Obama is so significant in 2012, doesn’t he use his influence to mount a formal investigation into Obama’s eligibility. There have been allegations since long before Obama’s election in 2008 that he is not a “natural-born citizen,” a requirement imposed on no other official...

This feud is heating up. Here is Trump on today's Sean Hannity Radio program. This is after Rove said about Trump (this morning on Fox) "what the heck are Republican candidates doing showing up to a debate with a guy who says 'I may run for president again as an Independent?' Rove has hit Trump on this in just about every interview today, including tonight again on Greta.

Via Mediaite. He did the right thing but, Mitt being Mitt, I can’t help wondering what the political calculus was behind it. Remember, he’s not above pandering to Trump. He met with him at his office a few months ago while taking care not to be caught on camera doing so, natch. Skipping the debate, I take it, is designed to show undecideds that he’s more presidential (and therefore electable?) than Newt and Perry, and maybe to signal that he’s more willing than people assume to take a political risk. Expect a “Sistah Souljah” reference or two in the coverage...

DECEMBER 5, 2011 Trump’s Sideshow Debate In announcing that their candidate would not attend the Newsmax debate set to be moderated by Donald Trump in Iowa later this month, the Ron Paul campaign wrote, “The selection of a reality television personality to host a presidential debate that voters nationwide will be watching is beneath the office of the Presidency and flies in the face of that office’s history and dignity.” We could not have put it any better than the Paul campaign, but it is bizarre that such a response was necessary in the first place. The statement goes on...

“I happen to think,” Trump continued, “it’s very strange that after years, all of a sudden it appears. And I’ve also said, ‘How come there are no records that his mother was ever in the hospital?’ There are records that other people were in the hospital at that time… There’s no record that Obama or the mother was. And then you have the grandmother making statements, and you have the family pointing to different hospitals. Look, I have real questions, but I also know Obama is totally protected by the press, and unfairly so, I would say. … I find...

Trump Is Still Not Ruling Out a Run at the White House By Peter Gorenstein | Daily Ticker – 17 hours ago Donald Trump is still not ruling out a run for the White House in 2012. The outspoken critic of President Obama may decide to throw his hat back in the ring, after toying with the idea earlier this year, he tells The Daily Ticker in the accompanying interview. This time though, he'd look to run as a third-party candidate, rather than as a Republican. "I will tell you if the wrong candidate is chosen and if the economy...

Today at 2pm in New York City one of the countries most prolific business figures, Donald Trump, will play host to Mitt Romney who was widely considered a leading candidate for the 2012 GOP nomination until Herman Cain stole the show last week. While Romeny and Trump have had their differences in the past there is an underlying similarity that the general public should take notice of. This similarity also exists in the new GOP darling Cain, and that is entrepreneurial success! If you view the DNC ad posted recently, www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoAv4BoOegM&feature=player_embedded, (which I just saw Trump laugh off on Fox...

Add Donald Trump to the list of people that seem to have doubts about President Obama’s national tour. Speaking from his office with Greta van Susteren today, Trump argued that the President takes “more vacations than any human being I’ve ever seen” and that his “fundraising tour” should not fall into the hands of taxpayers, citing a lack of leadership on his part. Trump and Van Susteren went through a long list of topics– from China and OPEC to Sarah Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann– but began with the President’s tour. The August vacation, separately, Trump argued “sends a very,...

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump, who staged a weeks-long public campaign questioning Barack Obama's eligibility to be president during March and April – and rose to the top of the pool of potential candidates for the 2012 GOP nomination then as a result – says he believes the "birth certificate" released by the White House is forged.... Trump said his period of almost-complete silence on the issue following the release by the White House on April 27 of the image of a "Certificate of Live Birth" from the state of Hawaii was not because he was satisfied with the document.... During...

"Since his "media honeymoon" ended a few weeks ago, it seems Trump has been the recipient of a never-ending supply of bad news: Polls showing Republicans opposed to him, polls showing the general electorate opposed to him, polls showing his New Hampshire competitor Romney with much better poll numbers than his, fumbling during interviews, being mocked at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and a failure to pivot off of the birth certificate issue...."

Barack Obama has finally decided against releasing a photo of Osama bin Laden's corpse as proof of his death. But the former chief freedom of information expert for the U.S. government tells Gawker that he may not have that choice. Up until a few moments ago, when CBS News reported Obama's decision, the Administration had issued mixed signals on whether it intended to release graphic evidence of Osama's demise. CIA director Leon Panetta stated that he expected a photo would eventually be released, while Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton were reportedly opposed. White House Press...
