RINO dung identification guide - a refresher course

Posted on 04/17/2011 10:51:11 AM PDT by dirtboy

It has been a while since we saw RINO herds in such vast numbers roaming about FR. You're on a Trump thread and have come across a fresh steaming pile of dung that a poster has just dumped on FR, so a refresher course in RINO scatology is in order. How do you tell if it is RINO (Republicanus countryclubbus) dung or some other kind of dung (such as the garden variety from cattle)?

"He's not a perfect conservative" - RINO dung. It basically means he is not a conservative at all.

"You're just a single issue poster" - RINO dung. It means you are pointing out the RINOs many departures from conservativism, and the poster wants to pretend there is only one such departure and you are fixated on it.

"He's actually pro-life" - RINO dung - the candidate says he is personally pro-life but in favor of a woman's right to choose. Which makes him pro-choice.

"He had to make those donations to Dems because he is a New York developer" - RINO dung if the person in question made donations to politicians who never had anything to do with New York and also seldom if ever made donations to Republicans (note - this is a variation of RINO droppings that claim a candidate had to nominate Democrats to key posts because there were no pubbies available).

"There are no conservative candidates standing up to Obama" - could be cattle dung or RINO dung, not enough for positive scatalogical identification.

"So who do YOU think can beat Obama?" Probably cattle dung, sometimes dropped by non-RINOs to distract from their own candidate's issues.

Remember - be very careful not to step in the RINO dung, it can be really hard to get off your shoes.

An excellent guide, but shouldn’t it be “rhino scat”?

Keeps the scientific community interested because of the scientific terminology, AND it does describe what most Americans feel about rhinos.

I refer to what Americans tand to say when they see a tom cat about to scent mark their property - SCAT ! ! !

Rhinos are earmarking out property, and that of our descendants.

SCAT ! ! BAD RHINO ! ! !

That should actually read:

We need pictures to post when we identify the DUNG slingers!

I would add, since there hasn’t been much comment on it, that every one of the Republicans he donated to was a RINO. His donations to real conservatives were ZERO.

The only possible conservative in the bunch was Newt, and if anyone thinks that Newt has been a conservative in recent years, they should take a closer look at what he has been saying and doing.

Hilarious post, dirtboy, filled with highly factual content. LOL

What the trumpsters want conservatives to do, is set aside reality and join them in committing political hara-kiri. After Arnold, Rudy, Willard and Scotty from Massachusetts, I thought the moderates and liberals around FR would have learned their lesson by now. Obviously, that is not the case.

We are never going to regain our Constitutional limited government, if we continue to embrace liberal candidates who offer nothing but more of the same.

The cult of personalty is not what America needs today.

Actually there are several species of RINO, though R. countryclubus is indeed the most common. There remains a debate, however, whether R. countryclubus is merely a sub-species of R. aspina, the spineless Republican. Other RINO species include:

Respublica progressiva (common name: progressive Republican): common in the late 19th and early 20th century, the population of R. progressiva has dwindled significantly since the mid-20th century, and is now concentrated in Maine and a few other northeastern states.

Respublica fascista (common names: fascist; nanny-state Republican): widespread throughout the US, recent mayors of New York City are the most perfect examples of this species.

Respublica constupro (common name: corrupt Republican>: common throughout the US with numerous sub-species ranging from Nixona to Abramhoffa.

Respubica taftista (common name at Free Republic: Paultard): once thought extinct, this species of RINO articulates a non-interventionalist foreign-policy vision that is sharply at odds with the vigorous and assertive internationalism advocated by the mainstream of both the Republican and Democratic Party political elite.

Nice field guide, and a great start to the novel intellectual field pursuit you have marked off.

Spoor is a good old Afrikaaner word. More general, less scatological.

Don’t forget RINOPHOBIA. That is when a conservative sees Rinos everywhere and can’t handle it.

As in “that man taking out our garbage is a Rino! Don’t let him do it!”

Ah, I see one of our recently-minted Trump pimps has shown up.

So care to make the case that Trump is not a NE RINO?

""There are no conservative candidates standing up to Obama"

I generally agree with your post and appreciate the humor. Thank you.

That said, there's only two candidates that are taking on the CORE ISSUE of 2012 (whether we WANT this to be the core issue or not), namely Obama, the man.

Palin and Trump are attacking THE MAN, Obama.

There's not another, not ONE SINGLE GOP wannabe other than them willing to do it.

Smashmouth style...the same Chicago style that Obama employs.

And, I really really like that.

Of course, my choice between the two is very easy.

Sorry, but Obama's eligibility will not be the core issue of 2012.

Try inflation and jobs instead.

And, from the article about Jon Huntsman and a possible run for president, the line that says that, in order for him to appeal to the youth vote, he may have to make “a departure from some party dogma.” RINO-speak for come out of the democrat closet.

Not too sure about the guy taking out our garbage, but I’m pretty sure we all have you pegged.

One nice thing about RINOs of your ilk: They love the spotlight. Which makes identification so much easier.

And unlike the guy in your fantasy, you’re the one trying to bring the garbage back in.

Excellent taxonomic work! Thanks!

Where do you think Trumposarus bankruptii fits into that evolutionary scale?

If we don’t rally behind a good conservative soon, we’ll be stuck with another rino.

Four years ago, here on Freerepublic, there was a lot of enthusiasm for Duncan Hunter. Some wanted Fred Thompson. Others liked Huckabee.

Nobody at FR wanted McCain.

Yet, that’s who we we’re stuck with.

I see us doing the same thing this year: There’s a lot of enthusiasm for Herman Cain and Allen West. Some want Michelle Bachman. Others like Huckabee, or Sarah Palin.

It is my suggestion that we wait until May 15th allowing all candidates plenty of time to announce.

Then we should have an online debate for one week as to which candidates we like best AND which candidates have the best chance of winning!

We vote via an online poll open to FRiends who have been here at least 18 months. (Sorry newbies & trolls)

Whichever conservative wins the FR poll, we should ALL rally behind giving that candidate a solid jumpstart over the other conservatives & RINOs.

If conservatives remain divided we’ll end up with a Romney or Trump...guaranteed.
