Obama: The African colonial
American Thinker ^ | June 25, 2009 | L.E. Ikenga

Had Americans been able to stop obsessing over the color of Barack Obama's skin and instead paid more attention to his cultural identity, maybe he would not be in the White House today. The key to understanding him lies with his identification with his father, and his adoption of a cultural and political mindset rooted in postcolonial Africa.

Like many educated intellectuals in postcolonial Africa, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was enraged at the transformation of his native land by its colonial conqueror. But instead of embracing the traditional values of his own tribal cultural past, he embraced an imported Western ideology, Marxism.

And look what Kenya has become since those colonials have left. It has deteriorated to below third world status. Look at Zimbabwe. One the breadbasket of africa, now a basket case. Yep, those colonials sure were evil. /sarc

Just have a minor problem with the author’s depiction of imperialism in Africa. The era of European colonialism was Africa’s period of greatest prosperity, growth, improvement in infrastructure, and stability. It wasn’t exactly a redistribution of wealth thing.

The anti-colonialists believed (and Obummer still does) in a zero-sum game and that results in a Zimbabwe.

In comparison, look at Asian former colonies like India, parts of China, Singapore, etc. They believe in growth and free markets.

The differences in prosperity are startling.

I don't worry about his skin color. I don't like his Eurowinnie white socialist-communist side. I don't like the guy because he is a foreigner who got elected to president in violation of our Constitution. I can 100% GURANTEE YOU that if the dims had thought a republican was not a natural born citizen, they would have burned down town to find out and the commie media would have joined right in. Obama is a socialist. Plain and simple.

The only ones obsessing over the color of Obama’s skin were the ones doing all the denying. Let’s get that straight first.

"his cultural identity"

And that's the facts.
He just might, have been born in America,
but he didn't grow up here.
He didn't go to 4th of July Parades year after year. The 4th of July always made my Heart swell with pride to be an American.
He didn't struggle through the tough times with us and didn't celebrate our triumphs.
He was and always has been and come to think of it, still is to this day surrounded by people who only see Americas' faults.

Remember when Obama was early in office and he saw a bust or a painting of Winston Churchill and he sent it back to England!

It could have just been put in storage. Oh, yeah...what a hater!

Watch what people do as much as what they say. (Something like that.)

Really a pity that the people got such a raw deal when the colonials left.

Dinesh D'Souza wrote a whole book about this, about a year ago. No doubt, but this guy is late to the party.

That is because you and I know that wealth is not the pie, it is the bakery. Leftists don’t get that.

Obama’s “otherness”, whatever it may be, non-Americanism or Islamic roots, is becoming more and more apparent to the general population. They don’t feel comfortable with him. They don’t like his “values” or the way he forces them on us.

I believe the democrats, with Obama’s enablers leading the scam, set up the scenario whereby McCain’s election could have been called to question because of McCain’s birth in Panama, not in the USA controlled canal zone. The opposite of the coin would have been in play but events showed such was not necessary and McCain was in no position to call up a wrong pot of crap. I also believe the setup was planned years earlier when the idea of a new world order was leaked. Buddy-buddy politics since have verified this was going on. Perhaps Trump by some will-of-the-wisp has broken into the cabal.

Absolutely. The author implies that Britain came into a peaceful and wealthy area of Africa, which they later made into Nigeria, stole all their “stuff” and created ethnic conflict.

In actual fact, of course, the area was incredibly poor and racked by warfare long before Europeans showed up. There just wasn’t much of anything to steal. Colonialism was at best a break-even proposition for the imperial power. Most lost a great deal of money. Imperialism was not engaged in for profit and loss reasons.
