US Muslims find defending themselves exhausting
Associated Press ^ | March 12, 2011 | JEFF KAROUB

...

As the profile of American Muslims has been heightened by the 9/11 attacks and subsequent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, many Muslims say they too have been inspired to protect their communities against terrorism. They are becoming more active in civic and political causes and more regularly reach out to law enforcement officials.

"No community is working more diligently than the Muslim community," said Sally Howell, an associate professor at University of Michigan-Dearborn and author of several books and essays on Arabs and Muslims in Detroit.

"Really, there is nobody in our society that is more concerned about this than the Muslim community. There have been instances of this coming from their community and they don't want it to happen."

Emotions were strong in the hearing room in Washington. Framed by photos of the burning World Trade Center and Pentagon, two families argued Islam was responsible for luring young men to become radicals. On the other side, Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison — one of two Muslims in Congress — wept while discussing a Muslim firefighter who died in the attacks.

Jim Riches, a former New York City deputy fire chief whose son, Jimmy, was killed at the trade center, said he believes Muslims can do more.

"All people should be treated the same way, but the Muslim community has to step up," he said. "There are plots being hatched in mosques. It's a major problem. Muslim terrorists are on our soil." A handful of Somali and Muslim community leaders in Minnesota gathered to watch Thursday's hearing, clapping and nodding their heads in agreement when one witness called the proceedings skewed.

Defending America from jihadists is "exhausting", so let's stop importing them.

I suggest just dropping the Koran, throw out the prayer rugs, get rid of the goats and any bomb vests and remove all of Islam from your life.

Exhausting will be the least of most Moslems situations in the future.

I have to believe being a muslim is very exhausting.
Your brain is fried by trying to juggle the mental book-keeping where you want to worship God -- but your 'holy book' is basically screaming at you that the god you are worshiping is Satan.
Does God, the Creator of the Universe, need his followers to kill people if they dis' HIM? Of course not. But who actually enjoys human carnage and misery amongst men and women? - Satan.
Also, Mohammad himself said he once spoke the words of Satan (when something didn't happen that he 'prophesized') - the so-called Satanic verses that got Rushdie 'fatwa'd'. No Prophet of God can ever prophesize a lie ... ergo, maybe Mo was working for the other team?

So - when your brain logic tells you are worshiping something evil - but you know if your mouth voices these concerns you'll get your head lopped off (most likely by your own relatives) - you have to come up with exhausting methods that require to shut off your mind: i.e., 'don't think about the words of the koran - just chant them over and over again. The Arabic is beautiful ...' in fact its better if you don't know the Arabic because you won't understand the meaning ... which in the case of the koran follower - this would be a good thing (to avoid brain hemorrhaging).

Yes - I can imagine the exhaustion. I pray, at some point, they can find Rest in the Lord Jesus...

“No community is working more diligently than the Muslim community,” said Sally Howell, an associate professor at University of Michigan-Dearborn and author of several books and essays on Arabs and Muslims in Detroit.

In Dearborn people poured into the main shopping street on 9-11 to cheer and merchants handed out candy to the celebrating crowds. In Dearborn High School Muslim students cheered in the halls at the news and intimidated the non-Muslim minority students with violent threats. None of this was widely broadcast as from the White House to the outhouse all the political class was busy already with the refrain ‘Religion of Peace is not responsible for these bad actions’.

The actions of Muslims in Dearborn that day told me all i needed to know about Islam. The Japanese Americans didn't gather under pictures of Hirohito to cheer Dec 7. But Muslims did cheer Sept 11. While the Constitution forbids it i believe these people ought be expelled for this country en masse.

You CAN NOT “defend” the indefensible.

THIS is what Moslems are trying to do.

Tears and wringing of the hands by a Moslems father who lost, Mohammad, in 911 doesn't change the fact that ALL the hijackers were Moslems.

What creeps me out is this “father” still defends Islam! He didn't take the politically correct out that “radical” Moslems must be stopped. NO! Instead he DEFENDED ISLAM and pretended that MOSLEM is a GOOD RELIGION. He is blind and using EMOTIONS to pull at your heart strings to deny the OBVIOUS that ISLAM is EVIL. ALL of ISLAM is EVIL.

“Cafeteria style Moslems” who don't want violence and beheadings are just that - picking and choosing what they WANT to believe. They are NOT taking the Koran seriously or following Mohammad's teachings. I purpsoly spell those that follow Islam, Moslems. Until a few years ago, they were called Moslems. Well, Moslems were offended by that term so they changed it to Muslims. WHY were they offended? Because a Muslim in Arabic means "one who gives himself to God," and is by definition, someone who adheres to Islam. By contrast, a Moslem in Arabic means "one who is evil and unjust" when the word is pronounced, as it is in English, Mozlem with a z. " Call them what they are - MOSLEMS!

Agreed....stop letting them emigrate to the US, period. We don’t need them, never did - never will. Maybe they wouldn’t be so exhausted at defending their religion of faith, if they would just once, once, mind you, scream out at the top of their lungs at the atrocities their brothers in Islam all over the world are committing. They are just a bunch of devious, evil zealots - some smarter and more subtle than others, but the same nonetheless.

The chief political cause seems to be grievances against the citizens of the United States defense of the homeland for internationally funded (Saudi) radical Islamist ideology.

Yes, DENOUNCE Saudi Arabia's prohibition on all non-muslim faiths. Every muslim bows to the Islamic capital 5 times a day every day and does not speak out against this civil rights injustice.

Clean up your OWN backyard first. THEN I may be willing to hear the arguments that Islam is "tolerant of diversity". Right now the cultural exchange is strictly a one-way steamroller over the rest of the world.

Stop permitting the Saudi government theocracy to fund mosques in the USA. I don’t see anything in the Constitution that permits FOREIGN governments to fund the establishment of religion in America.

2/3 of mosque funding comes from the Saudis. Saudi Arabia seizes and burns Bibles and other non-Islamic religious texts.

It is foolish to be tolerant of rabidly intolerant totalitarians.

Or rather I should say, they seem to ‘’defend’’ their right to be intolerant and ‘’offended’’ at every wind that blows and shadow that falls and they seem to ‘’defend’’ their right to kill whom ever they want, when ever they want. I hope they ‘’exhaust’’ themselves to death. Really. To death.

RE: 19
Other men and women. No Satan necessary.

True - but why is that?

Because as Satan lied to our first parents and deceived them into falling into sin - we are all slaves to sin until the Holy Spirit frees us from these chains and cures us of our sin-cursed blindness. Until then, all of us are like the Pharisees who Jesus spoke to, saying:

John 8:44-45 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

And again, until the new birth we (as it is written in Ephesians 2:2-3:
'... walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation [our lifestyle] in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others'.

All because, "the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..."

So yes, you are correct. Men and women enjoy inflicting pain on one another (James 4:1-2 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.).
But that is because they are slaves of sin - in bondage to Satan and blinded to the fact that we are all the children of the living God (through faith in our Lord Christ Jesus). Satan is the author of misery in his hatred for people (Satan thought he deserved God's preferred place in God's Creation - not lowly man) - but people are his unwitting dupes.
Our prayers are to all peoples - whether muslim, or whatever - that their eyes are opened by the Holy Ghost and they come to a saving faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lots of evidence for God before humanity; none whatsoever for Satan.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

I don't believe we disagree as to who the serpent was, but in case there were any questions:

Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Now whether Satan preceded Adam and Eve his existence - is less clear. In a way, it doesn't really matter - Satan sought to destroy mankind with his deceitful (and subtle) line of questioning with Eve in Genesis 3:1. Thus earning Satan the title of 'a murderer from the beginning':

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Although one can't draw a black and white conclusion as to when Satan was created, the passages in Isaiah 14 indicate that Satan did have an 'entitlement' pride - that would set him at odds with man (who was created in God's image and was intended to have stewardship and dominion over God's Creation).

Isaiah 14:12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

And given that Lucifer (Satan) was an angel (the leader of the fallen ones) - he was considered a 'son of god'. And as it is written in the Book of Job, that would put him at the foundation of the Earth (i.e., before humanity):

Job 38:4-7 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
