Some Georgia lawmakers couldnt backpedal fast enough Thursday on a birther bill supported earlier this week by a majority of House members.
First to block out his name with a heavy black marker on House Bill 401 was John Meadows, chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee.
A steady stream of legislators followed all day. By 5 p.m., at least 23 of the original 93 backers were gone from a proposal requiring presidential and vice presidential candidates prove they were born in the United States. Among them was the bill's lone Democratic supporter, Glenn Baker of Jonesboro.
Seventy sponsors is still a sizable chunk of the 180-member chamber, but is an abrupt about-face from just 48 hours before. Why?
Weve got state problems weve got to take care of, said Meadows, R-Calhoun, who said he heard complaints from constituents.
Many of those removing their names said they hadnt read the bill and disagreed with how far it goes in making a candidate prove eligibility. Others simply said theyd been told to take their names off but declined to say by whom.

Arizona might be the only state to pass a Presidential eligibility law. If they punk out, if not one state passes this law, I will be very disappointed
The problem with the eligibility laws that they are trying to pass is that they are qualifying it under the amendments instead of just demanding that he be a NBC as McCain was declared one.
All they have to do is demand equal treatment .. thats all. McCain was declared a NBC because his parents were American citizens. They are going to screw it up. It is inevitable.
Thanks, FW.
And this is WHAT our "fellow" Americans elected POTUS! A homosexual communist, what a destructive combo!
Yep, donchknow that the messiah has his own book of revelation? it's published in the communist media 24/7.
He is a dual citizen.
Dont sell the FReepers short. I'm sure FReepers know that. Calling people who want to uphold the Constitution "birthers" is one aspect of the communist media and trolls' campaign to paint them as kooks.
Speaking for myself, I know he's ineligible to be POTUS because of the dual status alone. However, I choose the path of peeling the rotten-to-the-core 0h0m0llah and knock out the made-up messiah, the Brilliant One, the ghost of a POTUS, etc. in one shot.
To accomplish that, it's the education, stupid. Show us his grades, whether he ever joined/graduated without AA, his applications, who paid for his "indoctrination" as if he needed more after his fantastic hardcore mentors and family (who are they
That makes me a ghoster NOT a birther, and a more vindictive one at that.
See, if the education records come out, this narcissi homo and his communist allies will be thoroughly demolished and the American people will realize that not only ALL the Conservatives may be dumb (LOL), but also many liberals are dumb and worthless liars.
This would put 0b0z0 in a padded room to protect him from himself. As you can see, I want to expose him as the DUMB FRAUD he is and that's more vindictive than the BC legalese route!
Just watch 0c0ward sliver out of running in '12! LOL
I didn’t “sell Freepers short”.
That’s why I said “everyone BUT us on FR....”
: )
Freepers are informed.
The general public are idiots.
FREEP ON !!!
I’m sorry to have missed the But!
What do you think of the idea that the stealth education records would throw him out on his homo BUTT?
Your friendly ghoster, aka, Papa Alinsky.
Oh yes, those records would do him in.
What a little twerp he is, for making one of his first evil acts as fake president, sealing all his records.
He is so guilty.
I know he thinks Americans are so stupid for letting him skate into the White House. He knows how the socialist educators have made us into an “Idiocracy”.
This has been an excruciating time to live through, knowing we have a usurper destroying our country at will.
We’re only half way through it.
Pray for America, Freepers!
regardless of how many judges make bad decisions , the people of the United States have a right for a legally elected President sitting in the white House. Any questions about the eligibility needs to be addressed , not concelled by a few liberal judges.
The Congress isn’t interested either. The Speaker of the House says that the state of Hawaii vouching for Obama’s birth there is good enough for him and the Republican majority leader says that Obama’s eligibility isn’t a policy issue that needs to be on the table.
The American people will get another shot at Obama on the first Tuesday in November, 2012.
69,456,897 votes were tallied for Obama, so concerns about his eligibility were not significant enough for an electoral majority to reject him. That was the most votes for any presidential candidate in the history of the republic. No other branch of government is going to disenfranchise a national electoral majority.
If significant and concrete evidence of Obama’s ineligibility were to be uncovered, the Congress might impeach him or his own Democratic Party might pressure him to resign the way Richard Milhouse Nixon did.
Both the Watergate Grand Jury and the Watergate Committee in Congress provided the evidence that removed Nixon.
The same thing could happen with Obama is there were to be solid evidence.
Thus far such concrete evidence has not emerged which is why a REPUBLICAN Judge appointed by George W. Bush called “birther” evidence “spurious” and lawsuits that challenge Obama to be “frivolous.” And that’s why that same REPUBLICAN judge fined “birther” attorney Orly Taitz $20,000 for wasting his time with nonsense and that’s why a CONSERVATIVE majority on the US Supreme Court upheld that $20,000 sanction.
It has absolutely no force in law, tradition, or the price of a bleachers ticket to the Toledo Mud Hens. It has the same moral force as a Resolution, e.g., "Be it resolved that May 32d is henceforth to be celebrated as National Sweet Pickle Day."
It is true however, that the superannuated jet jockey with the lame brain could have used it in his laughable "campaign" against Obama/Soetoro, the results of which malfeasance has put all of us in a pickle that ain't so sweet.
POTUS! A homosexual communist?
We actually do not know this for sure. All we know is that he appears a little light in the loafers, throws like a girl, wears a girlie bike helmet, wears "Mom" jeans, belongs to a gay spa in Chi-town, has been accused of some queer stuff by a really queer guy, believes in gay marriage, and is married to a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles (judging by looks), just hired a gay party planner, his chief of staff was a ballet dancer, and he used to hold hands with a Pakistani fellow.
That doesn't prove he's gay. He could just be a sissy. So don't go spreading gay rumors. We got enough trouble with this commie rat bastard (that part is true) whose "nanny" in Indonesia was a transvestite gay prostitute.
>Munz, that Senate thing that said McCain was OK as an NBC, and that The Mombasa Moonbeam signed, was a “Resolution.”
It has absolutely no force in law, tradition, <
I understand that. But the minutes of the resolution were important. As is the fact that Obama was part of it.
When all the senators agree (and a former federal judge) that the only stipulation that they know is that he be born of American Citizens and Obama signs off on to it. It says a hell of a lot. I don’t care of it has the force of law or not.
After that there is no saying “well I was mistaken” or “we thought he knew” or anything else. After that it is clear cut and dry. complete duplicity on Obama’s part. he KNEW he wasn’t qualified .. he was there. He co signed the resolution!
Do not discredit the importance of the event. It shows an awful lot in context.
Silence is deemed consent. When McCain refused to make an issue of Obama's provenance, he tacitly agreed that Soetoro/Obama was constitutionally eligible, and has indeed on several occasions said so.
Since the Resolution was passed, every official that has affirmed Soetoro/Obama in office, has by extension, affirmed that he too is constitutionally eligible. Now, if 1 (one) brave US Senator were to stand up on the floor and plainly point out that by the terms of the Resolution he himself signed,Soetoro/Obama was himself ineligible, we might have something. Until that happens, the Resolution remains completely irrelevant. Of course, any Presidential candidate also remains free to bring it up to try and give it the moral force we agree it deserves.
Unless our POV is acknowledged and fairly considered by either the legislative or judicial branch of government, we are approaching the point at which those who do do not believe Soetoro/Obama is constitutionally eligible are to become rebels. That of course, is unthinkable ... at the moment.
After reading your post, I stand corrected, 0b0z0 is NOT a homosexual! /s off.
However, you forgot that he also repealed DADT. Maybe, just maybe, he’s trying to destroy our military.
>Unless our POV is acknowledged and fairly considered by either the legislative or judicial branch of government, we are approaching the point at which those who do do not believe Soetoro/Obama is constitutionally eligible are to become rebels. That of course, is unthinkable ... at the moment.<
I think there are 11 states now making rules and laws for presidential eligibility .. to be on a ballot.
One or two of them have to get it right. Then Obama wont be able to run on those state tickets. How is that going to look for him? Any presidential hopeful who REALLY wants the job can make full use of that issue and destroy him.
I hope one does. But I am not holding my breath
Furthermore, you hussy, as responsible adults, I think that we should re-direct this conversation to more intellectual topics, such as,
"WTF are those weird scars on his head and throat?"
And btw, I really would like to know how he got the scar on his scalp. It has been theorized that he has brain damage, and he certainly acts like it at times. Odd, isn't it, that he's written two bios and never mentioned a head injury bad enough to leave a visible scar decades later.
My friend came through, and sent me a name and a phone number. I plan to call sometime tomorrow. Depending on what I learn, I’ll either ping or PM you all.
And Munz, there is no need to be discouraged. That is the OP’s purpose in posting threads like this: he wants to keep us nervy and unsettled. In the end, one or more of the eligibility bills will pass. It will be enough. In the meantime, pay no attention to the Site Pest’s attempts to dishearten you. Ignore him for all you’re worth, and see if you don’t immediately have a more upbeat and positive outlook. It’s worth a try. :)
