I am sure they all voted for Dingy Harry Reid even though their state was a disaster. They are so caught up in their liberal world they don’t see reality coming to kick them in the you know what.

"What I am waiting for is for some State legislature to direct university presidents to compile two lists."

A year ago, Nevada's legislature needed another special session (it meets every two years) to cut spending to match reduced revenue. At that time, the governor told UNLV regents and president to come up with 30% in cut for this session. They submitted an increase!!!

"...John Filler, a special-education professor and former chairman of the Faculty Senate, said, “There is nothing that we’ve done to deserve this.” His voice broke, people applauded..."

Good God. Strap on a pair, why don't you?

You reap what you sow. I would be willing to bet 90% of them voted enthusiastically for Odingleberry, who thinks nothing of demonizing individuals and groups for political purposes. Doctors who perform amputations instead of treating the condition, because amputations supposedly pay more (in his twisted make-believe world)

What Odingleberry failed to mention was that these people supposedly doing this would be driven to it so they can send their children to an "institution of higher learning" that will end up costing $200K+

Why don’t they just talk/beg to Harry Reid? He’s loaded. I’m sure he’d be happy to cut them a check from his personal funds. Harry cares!

That quote just jumped off the page at me.

Teachers are finally going to see what the real world is like.

Also, it will be interesting to see what their reactions are when they are let go and highly paid administrators are kept.

Also, the lot of them,as a rule, are real whiners.

Here in NC, the issue of tenure is being hotly debated. If tenure is done away with, these people are really going to “whine” big time.

The only thing I disagree with you on this is the number of credit hours needed to graduate.

I hate to admit it, but the only thing I learned in college, was how to read the Op-Ed page in a newspaper.

Took about two classes of Poli-Sci for the professor to teach me that.

Why offer the classes you listed, when students can’t even read or write.

Professor of “educational leadership.” What exactly is that? I guess I’ll never know. Oh, well.

“The university is in your property tax assessment, not the state sales or income taxes? I thought that was just for secondary schools.”

Wow! You’re wrong. In fact, the state property taxes I pay in my state does indeed pay for leftist professors in state colleges. Universities, too.

Want to spell check me, too?

Quit acting like an ass and ass-u-me-ing that every state has a property tax system like AZ’s so they automatically should know what you’re talking about. There aren’t any university assessments on domestic property taxes in Illinois.

Add to your list:

Remedial Math
Remedial English
Remedial History
Remedial Science

These should have been taught/learned in High School

My daughter has been attending UNLV since 2008. I call it “NWM” (no white males). Since she started at 13, I spent a lot of hours sitting in the library using my computer surrounded by some of the most unbelievably idiot, moronic conversations I’ve ever heard. I was amazed they ever got into college.

My daughter had to drop an English class. It was taught by a professor that bragged about not taking a salary as her husband was a dentist and I guess she was touchy-feely giving back like a good little Marxist. She was vehemently anti-homeschooling and pro conformity. My daughter started getting physically ill before class and I finally removed her. We found out what she was like too late so that was money down the drain.

I had the pleasure of being on campus prior to the 2008 elections :( The republicans were massively out numbered, and you couldn’t walk a few hundred feet without being accosted to sign up to vote. The repubs were decent and used facts over their bull horns, while the dems screamed about how bad the repubs were, Bush’s fault, and the rest of the usual rhetoric without backing up their stance with any facts. Also, on every hall bulletin board I saw there was a flyer about an anarchy club asking, “Do you want make real changes in the world?”

As for finances...I paid almost as much in college fees this and last semester as I did for her 2 classes. Lab fees, tech fees, student health fees, a fee for signing up, ad nauseum. It was outright absurd. I had to pay for things she’d never use being a distance ed. student. I’m glad I got the student health fee waiver yesterday before the speech. My husband worked only about 3 months last year, didn’t qualify for unemployment and we pay tuition out of pocket. After my first request for the waiver, getting back an email about how it pays for kids that otherwise wouldn’t get health care, etc. (the email required a mega barf alert), I wrote back and gave her the grisly details of our life trying to pay our own way. I makes me furious when I saw so much ghetto trash on campus that couldn’t put a sentence together and are getting pretty much a free ride paid for by the tax payers and the Asian students. The school is over bloated and can use some deep cuts with the crap going on there. I have no sympathy for the whiny professors as they’re part of the system that created it.
