The Obamas' beachfront rental house in Kailua remained empty most of the day, with no sign of security on land or sea.
But that changed in the evening after the family and first dog Bo arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and motored over to the Windward side, arriving just after 8 p.m.
While some Kailuana Place residents said they wish the Obamas would spend their vacation at nearby Marine Corps Base Hawaii, others said they are excited to welcome the first family back to their neighborhood.
"It's no problem," said resident Sharon Miscovich, 48. "We put up our own signs to let people know the road is blocked. The Secret Service agents are wonderful -- very nice guys. And this year the dog is coming, so it's even better."

tee hee......so having the dog is even better than having the first family!!!
I can't help but wonder if he gets the loving a normal pet would get or if the poor guy is just a prop.
How nice of them to be able to spend time in Hawaii..Using God knows how much fuel this time, since they had to have two planes for the family and the dog..we must have paid a fortune in that fuel..I wonder how they will be able to cope when their Filthy butts are thrown our in 2012..
I hope Bo has a good time. The rest of them...eh who cares?

Handsome? looks like a prissy dog wannabe to me.
So they did not leave their dog behind this Christmas.
Obama was still in DC. Perhaps he has a significant other he wishes to spend some time with alone.

The arrival of the First Lady in Hawaii...with the family dog? Is the dog in quarantine with all other animals that are transported to Hawaii, as the law requires? Or, is the “First Family’s” dog exempt because it’s disease free?
It’s amazing that they found him at a rescue pound too....hey...wait a minute.
Any history being made?

Dunham steve soetoro was supposed to attend basketball game last night but “cancelled” late. Hmmmm?????????
Man, he runs goofy. Does he look like that playing basketball, and I think Ceasar Milan would have a few words with him on how to deal with that dog. He, truly, never has owned a dog before.
