Sarah Palin's documentary / travelogue / reality-tainment / promotional-biopic shattered TLC ratings records Sunday night.
The debut of Sarah Palin's Alaska delivered a whopping 5 million viewers.
The first episode of the eight-part series was the most-watched program launch in TLC's history.

Big audience because this was the first episode, or will this level of viewing be maintained?
She paid for that mike!
May be too close to 2012 for her to be doing “Death Valley Days”- may be not.
Undoubtedly, it sets her up well for later though.
Not a surprise at all, but really CBS should have purchased the rights to the show and play it after NCIS.....it would have been AT LEAST 15 million. After Sarah’s show play NCIS LA and have the good wife off the air for however long Sarah’s show is on. I know folks here can’t stand CBS but really it is just the news agency that is bad. The CBS Network TV shows are pretty good. However, congratulations to Sarah on her TV show. Perhaps after this season they will renew it for another season. She may just have a show that lasts eight or nine seasons which would be awesome!
The Simpson’s “Ha Ha!” kid is called for here (pointed at the left-wing goofballs that HATE Sarah, who are found at The UK Guardian, MSNBC, and any other rocks they live under or caves they live in).
That ought to send liberals into a thumb sucking funk for months...............
THe show was pretty good. I’l have to watch it on the rerun tonight because I fel asleep.
But, Sarah, Sarah, WHY were you climbing rocks with no gloves on?
The scenes of the family out in the Alaskan wilderness were great. The scenes “at home with the Palins” were standard reality show boredom.
For those of us who have thrown away our tv's, what is "TLC?"
And there are still people who just hate it because she’s sooooooo popular and connected with the taxpayers.
These dinosaurs better watch out; they’re about to get “grizzlied.”
Sarah Palin is here to stay and all those pundits who refuse to honor her position with the voters will lose. And lose big time.
What this country needs are some real, honest to goodness architects who can actually built something wholesome — like our Christian based culture that is both moral and ethical — not just legal because Congress passed laws that re-defined “legal” for the congressional fat cats and left us “little people” out here on our own.

Dang it! I KNEW I wanted to watch something last night! Didn’t even DVR it...
Someone please come and confiscate my remote control.
In my defense, I only watch TV one night a week (I LURVE Dirty Jobs), and so much of the time, I forget we even own one, much less remember to watch something, even if I want to.
I had to record her. She’s on opposite my favorite serial killer - Dexter.
I want to see eight years of the President Sarah Palin show broadcast from the Oval Office with a pro-life, pro-family, America-first Congress replacing all the perverted ivory tower “activist” judges throughout the federal judiciary with true Original-Intent, Constitutional conservatives like Alito, Scalia, and Thomas.
I’d like to see the school collective abolished and people allowed to keep their property tax money to educate their own children in whatever manner they see fit.
I’d like to see Political Correctness heaped with the scorn and derision it so properly deserves and jettisoned with the communist effluvium into the septic tank of history.
I’d like to see the sodomites take their perversions back to the closet and leave our streets safe and clean for our children to use without having to see sexual perversions performed in the open.
I’d like to see rapists and pedophiles promptly dispatched by the hangmans noose, so our children can walk the streets and play in the playgrounds without fear, without cell phones, without tracking devices, as I did when I was a child.
I’m dreaming, I know, but I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer.
TLC is TLC. It used to be known as "The Learning Channel", one of the several spin-offs of Discovery, but now TLC stands just for TLC. It's still a Discovery network, though.
the last show will draw more people than the first. the reviews were great, the reaction by viewers were positive. this will only get bigger. I would not be surprised to see the big three fight for rights to broadcast it
> But, Sarah, Sarah, WHY were you climbing rocks with no gloves on?
She don’t need ‘em.
Your age is showing. Hope you don't remember "The Old Ranger"...
Or when Borax offered a plastic model of the 20 mule team. I had one...two actually...I may try to find another one.

The ratings will only increase
I liked the fence.
