Now that the Tea-nami has swept through the House of Representatives, the activists in the Tea Party are already looking at 2012. Democrats will be especially vulnerable in that cycle, as they have to defend 23 seats while Republicans only have to defend 10. Most see the dynamic of 2012 as a return of the Senate to GOP control, especially if the economy continues to stagnate for another year, as most economists predict. But as Shira Toeplitz reminds us at Politico, Democrats arent the only members of the Class of 2006 looking over their shoulders:
Another bloody Republican Senate primary election season is taking shape for 2012, with potentially serious intra-party challenges percolating in close to a half-dozen states.
Polls indicate that at least two veteran GOP senators are highly vulnerable to challenges on their right flank Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch and Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe and there are rumblings about potential GOP bids against Nevada Sen. John Ensign, Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Indiana Sen. Dick Lugar as well.

Its gonna be a loooooooonnnnnnngggg two years.
Bring it on!
It’s time those RINO squishes find some backbone or we’ll kick them to the curb.
Let’s whip all the RINOs in the Primary.
Easy for them to pretend in the minority.
Don’t need them in the majority again no matter what.
That’s not a bad list to start with.
2014 seems so far away, but undoing what the RINOs have done to this party for the past three decades isn't easy OR quick.
If I hear one (hear me, ONE) word from SAXBY CHAMBLISS of Georgia about AMNESTY, COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM, or the like, I am damn sure, hunnert percent gonna donate the max to his challenger.
RINOs should become extinct!
First question to ask of any an all candidates in the primaries. Will you abide by the will of the voters or will be a sore loser and run even if you lose?
Then we need to consider what to do if they pull a Murkowski. The establishment must be defeated from pulling that trick again. The one funny enough they said we’d do.
“If I hear one (hear me, ONE) word from SAXBY CHAMBLISS of Georgia about AMNESTY, COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM, or the like, I am damn sure, hunnert percent gonna donate the max to his challenger.”
That goes for all pols..... each and every one of them....live up to our conservative Republican standards .....or we’ll vote you out! Simple a that. Serving the people is not a career, they have “right to hold a seat any longer than their performance is up to par!
Purge the Rino’s in the primaries.....vote Republican in the General.......
I wouldn’t be surprised if Lugar, Hatch and Bailey Hutchinson announce their retirements. All of them have been around entirely too long.
Hatch, Ensign and Hutchinson have to go. Isn’t Corker up as well? he should be a target. Snowe I’d be fine pushing to waltz over to the Democrats.
Ensign is the toughest one since Nevada is no gimme and the GOP there is in a mess. But his ethics trouble and his betrayal of conservatives since he signed on to the leadership make him a liability.
No doubt in my mind Snowe would pull a Murkowski if she lost the primary.
The enemy is not just the Congressidiots using the "right" initials. I despise business-as-usual 'good ol' boy Republicans every bit as I do the "progressive" 'Rats.
Related to that, I plan to track every vote by my representatives at all levels, and publish every one, ideally on FR.
Are there dedicated State ongoing political threads in FR?
Has anyone heard of a job where performance, or even activity is NOT monitored through an efficatious mechanism?
If not, that sure would be useful to make sure that pressure remains on all 'busineness as usual' elected politicians at all levels. For me, starting Jan 1, 2011 at the local level.
It drives me nuts that elected politicians use their franking privileges to inform us only about things that they want us to know about them.
Hello?
Unless the retards report every bill they introduce and every vote on all bills, monthly to their constituents on-line or through the mail, I say take away the privilege altogether!
No need to ask me the most stupid current citizenship question : What would you cut?
I can’t wait until primary time 2012.
I find it highly significant that Bob Corker (up for reelection in 2012) has signed onto Jim DeMint’s no earmarks movement.
The Cork looks like he can read which way the wind is blowing.
Efficacious.
...the one time I was distracted and neglected spellcheck...
