Not covered is the fact that these guys also want to divest from Israel, they want all companies that do business with the Department of Defense to leave campus, and they want to kick out military recruiters.

As a parent who has paid out of state tuition rates at UW, I can assure you they are rioting only for tuition breaks for in-state students and illegal aliens, not out of state citizen students.

how different from “hard-work-U”, College of the Ozarks. The students all do work-study so they graduate debt free.

Hm?....What’s the size of the UM endowment?
If this university’s endowment is in the multi-multi-millions or even in the BILLIONS ( Yes, that a “B”) maybe these kids should be getting free tuition!
It’s time that universities stopped sitting on their big fat endowments and stopped charging tuition just because they can squeeze money of the taxpayer, federal students loans and grants, the kid, and mom and dad.

You are in college and you are stupid enough to think something can be free?

Perhaps they should give them the education that free tuition would buy. Let them stay home for four years, and send them a jpeg file on their 22nd birthday so that they can print out their Degrees from their home computer.

I’m not sure, but I think this Rachel Matteson thug is one of the ones who assaulted police with snowballs last winter when protesting tuition costs.
Anyone know?

"We believe people who can afford it -- high level administrators who are making hundreds of thousands of dollars every semester -- should be the ones who are paying for this budget crisis," Interesting bit of irony if you think about it.
Who would of thought that the ivory towers would get hit with the reality that socialism works until you run out of other people's money so soon?

I’m sure Miss Matteson—who surely can afford it—is providing free food and iPods to those without.

Side story -there is a Republican candidate for State Assembly in Wisconsin who is being challenged by a former member of Students for a Democratic Society. Take a peek at the snow job this young lady (I use the term loosely) is hoping to pull on us:

These professors taught these kids to fight in the man, fight the power, fight the establishment.
And now these professors are learning they ARE the establishment.
I love the irony. :)

"This country doesn't seem to value education the way it used to," Hmmm...but they don't want to pay for it. Does that mean it's worth nothing? I taught at the university level for almost 40 years...started out with nothing...still have most of it left. Teachers simply aren't paid very well to begin with, but now the students are saying it isn't worth paying for it at all? I'm confused...
