Republican Senator John McCain warned on Monday that U.S. lawmakers should respond to the concerns of the conservative Tea Party movement or else its supporters could give rise to a third political party.
In an interview at the Reuters Washington Summit, McCain also said Republicans need a "positive agenda" in campaigning for the November 2 congressional election rather than simply saying no to Democratic policies.
McCain, who earned a reputation as a political maverick for bucking his party, has recently swung to the right on some issues to beat back a conservative challenger in his re-election bid in Arizona.
He said he meets regularly with Tea Party backers and shares their concerns about jobs, government spending and border security.
"What I worry about with the Tea Partiers is that the Tea Partiers are the canary in the mine," McCain said. "They are telling us that the American people are fed up with business as usual in Washington."

McCain said he hoped Obama will take account of the increased Republican strength when the next Congress takes office in January and urged the president to meet Republican leaders and declare: "Here's the problem -- how can we sit down and resolve it?"

I hope that DeMint finds a nice corner in the back of the room for McCain to wear his dunce hat and put Graham in the opposite corner.
Up yours, McCain!
This sorry Rino has the peanuts to say this crap. This POS was MR. AMNESTY!! He was for every “go along get along” piece of crap from the liberals. He is a JOKE!!!
Condescending...he forgets for whom he works....
Juan’s an idiot!
and which sane Tea Partier meets with one of the biggest super RINO of them all?
No McCain...our concerns will be addressed in November...and each election after that. We are not going away...this is not a momentary flash, this is America taking back their nation.
This sounds like a job for Senator Obvious. Then he jumps back into the business as usual hugfest with Obama.
One of Juan’s fundamental problems is that he is an attention whore. He’ll always seek out the strategy that gets him in the news and that allows him to act like some great mediator of different political views (when he isn’t stabbing conservatives in the back).
Oh, I believe that saying NO to the Dem agenda is a very positive position. Heck of a lot better than attacking a Senate candidate who happened to dabble in some silly youthful endeavor ........

This is why McCain does not get it.
Saying No to Democrat policies IS a positive Republican platform. Saying No is what they all need to do as the first step. The second step is saying “This is what needs to be done” and laying it out. Not led or held hostage (McCain, Graham, Snowe, Collins) by fricking RINOs but conservatives.
Thanks a heap, Mrs. Palin.
I hope to see McCain and the rest of the RINO’s cut down to a gang of a few.
It took 20 million dollars of negative ads and his fake respect for conservative ideas for this RINO to survive his primary. I predict he is going to retire 6 years from now as the Senate will be too conservative for him by then.
At the next McLaim rally(or speech) everyone should turn their backs on him...
I’m sure DeMint would rather see the true ‘Rat win in AZ instead of this RINO menace. McTurd needs to be flushed.
yep.
Didn’t Obama say him and Tea Partiers are just the same: they want higher taxes, bigger government and more regulations?
