DeMint's PAC Looks to Raise $174K for O'Donnell "By Next Week"
The Weekly Standard ^ | Sept. 15 | John McCormack

A National Republican Senatorial Committee tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD in an email it's very unlikely that national Republican party organizations will be spending money on Christine O'Donnell's Senate bid in Delaware:

SNIP

Matt Hoskins, a spokesman for Senator Jim DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund, writes in an email to TWS that the Senate Conservatives Fund is rising to the challenge:

The party's coordinated spending limit for a Senate nominee in Delaware is $87,000. The RNC and the NRSC each have that limit so it is double that amount. $174,000 total. Since the party is saying they will cut her off, this will be SCF's initial goal. We will likely raise her this money from grassroots by next week.

This will be $174,000 in new money earmarked for O'Donnell. On the Senate Conservatives Fund website, donors can choose to earmark their donations for a specific candidate or candidates. Hoskins says the SCF has not decided whether to make independent expenditures, which can be unlimited, from its general fund on O'Donnell's behalf.

A whole lot of us haven't been giving to any national Republican organization for a looooong time.

Give to individual conservative candidates, and tell the NRSC and RNC callers exactly why.

THIS is why.

The truth is that no one knows whether Christine has a chance in November (or whether her opponent has a chance).

I got the distinct impression that Dems didn't put up their "A" list candidate because they assumed that Castle would win the General Election.

My question is: "Does the Democrat sacrificial lamb have any chance to win in November?"

Good question! We'll know in a couple of weeks, and I can't wait to find out. Send O'Donnell money and the answer becomes more positive.

Coons is a self admitted Marxist, yet people are worried that our candidate will appear “too extreme”?

Great job DeMint.

If he doesn’t run I hope he gets behind Palin or a good conservative and doesn’t support Romney.

We need the real conservatives to unite.

Also, I’m hoping the GOP House leadership can get behind Pence instead of Boner, I mean Boehner.
