There's little doubt that former Nevada Assemblywoman Sharron Angle has stumbled -- badly and repeatedly -- since winning the GOP nomination on June 8.
And, there's also no debate that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D) campaign against Angle has been flawless in its execution -- using Angle's many past misstatements to paint her as an extremist who is out of touch with average Nevadans.
But -- and in politics there is almost always a "but" -- a recent independent poll in the race showed Reid at 45 percent to Angle's 44 percent -- a statistical dead heat that suggests that the Republican remains viable and could well even win this fall.
How?
Here's our take on five things that Angle could do in the next 64 days to get over the top on Nov. 2. Agree or disagree with our suggestions? The comments section awaits.
1. It's the economy, stupid [snip]
2. (Re)Fire up the base: [snip]
3. A Reid overplay [snip]
4. Independents, Independents, Independents [snip]
5. 5. Get (slightly) better as a candidate [snip]

Has she stumbled, or has the media only harped on faux “stumbles?”
Actually there's quite a bit of doubt on that score. One thing she needs to do is replay a few of Reid's more outrageous whoppers and just remind the Nevada voters what a loser he is.
6.) Using chicanery in violating senate rules to pass Obamacare, an entitlement program without 60 votes.
How Sharron Angle can (still) win1. Show up.
She HAS. It has been a piss poor campaign. D+ on the scale and I sent her money!
Nevertheless... any Dem, especially a high profile Dem who does not lead by 5+ is dead.
The unpolled and non political indies, are going to show up and vote out INCUMBENTS and RATS especially so.
Unless his lead is outside the margin by 5+, he is dead man walking.
The election in Alaska says it all too. She will win, barely, but she will win.
Praise God!
I think she can win if she hitches her wagon to the Gov. race and simply keep to a basic economic message of jobs, deficit, and failed policies of Reid/Pelosi/Obama
Forget everything else.
Excellent suggestion.
She has only been able to respond in kind to Harry’s attacks in the past month or so due to lack of funds. Her campaign website says she has raised a little over 3 million since June and Harry must have at least 10 times that much on hand. Hopefully she’ll get some PAC money and money from the party but she’ll never be able to spend like Harry. I think, once she starts getting her message out there, she’ll do fine.
1. she must talk directly to the camera.
2. she must identify a SPECIFIC problem.
3. she must show she has a solution to that specific problem.
4. She must ask for the vote.
Yeah, I just watched all videos on her website. With the exception of the newest one, they all have been bad. Having her lecturing people on the ads (same lecture, three ads) is not the way to convince people. And you are right. There’s no ad where she speaks directly to the camera, and talk to the viewers. Who does her campaign?
One of the inherent problems with getting real people to run for office is that they don't have the PR knowhow or resources to make them look like anything but what they are - amateurs.
Now, it's "amateurs" that we actually want in office but getting them elected requires making them look like pros. And most of the pros will steal the message, look like pros and get elected.
This is a serious problem that few ever talk about. It's also hard to overcome without selling out to what you don't want in the first place.
Gee Mr. Chris do you really think we can win? Do ya Mr. Chris?
PLEEEEEEEEEEZE when the dust settles reid and boxer will be gone.
What does Sarah think of her?
If Sharon is the real thing, Sarah could help personal and publicly.
... and Palin has said she will campaign for Angle.
Sarah formally endorsed her a couple of weeks ago.
Very good comment. Angle is authentic, the real deal, and not slick. Reid is phony, corrupt, and has been slick enough to narrowly get elected in the past. He is not going to make it this time.
