McCain still waiting on Hayworth call (J.D. gives McCain the silent treatment)
Politico ^ | 2010-08-26 | David Catanese

Two days after being trounced in the Arizona GOP Senate primary, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth still hasn’t called Sen. John McCain to congratulate him.

And it’s not as if Tuesday night’s outcome was in doubt for very long. McCain eviscerated Hayworth by 24 percentage points and The Associated Press called the race not even a full two hours after the polls closed.

The four-term senator quickly took the stage at the downtown Phoenix Convention Center to declare victory and make it an early night. But the McCain campaign is still a bit surprised it never heard from Hayworth, a former six-term congressman who lost his Scottsdale congressional seat in 2006.

“The Hayworth campaign actually had reached out to us this past weekend to get the appropriate number for him to call for concession,” one McCain aide told POLITICO.

The aide said Hayworth’s spokesman Mark Sanders even tested it on Monday morning to make sure the traditional post-election ritual went smoothly. But the call never came.

Sanders told POLITICO Hayworth had no plans of calling McCain. A message seeking an explanation on why was not immediately returned.

Up until Bo won the election...which McCain handed over to him...and a huge reason we have Obozo in office tearing down our country, I would have expected a cordial response as usual. But I have no problem with JD or any other Republician not giving McCain the time of day...the more who shun him the happier I will be...we can now expect amnesty and a host of other bills McCain will cross the aisle and vote with the Demos on.

So I’m in Jd’s court on this one...and it does not make him at all small in my book. Silence speaks volumes!...let McCain stew.....he certainly has done that to the American people.

Me too.....at some pint lines in the sand need to be drawn....and when Bo bowed before the Arabs he “Changed” the whole dynamics of proper protical and etiquette....enough is enough....JD or any other who cowtow to McCain needs to have their head examined....the more who shun him the better.

The point is not if McCain is, or is not, a liberal.
The point though, is lost on you.

Hayworth took the high road throughout his campaign. He never personally attacked McCain and didn’t have to lie about McCain’s TERRIBLE record. He praised him as a war hero, was MORE than kind and generous. But McCain managed to buy enough votes to convince voters Hayworth was the liar. Which may be understandable since so MUCH of the crappola McCain pulls is simply UNBELIEVABLE!

McCain buys yet another election, did nothing but NASTY campaigning with nothing but lies, and HE wants ‘proper’?
Why whine about this? The old man is a prissy old primadonna.

Screw you, McCain and your bitchy little daughter.

*On the ‘View’: Meghan McCain Blasts Tea Parties
Sen. John McCain’s daughter says the movement is filled with “innate racism.”
Does ANYONE think Meghan isn’t doing her father’s bidding???

The point though, is lost on you.

The only "point" you tried to make was a vicious personal attack against me at #45 in which you explicitly suggested that I would end up in a padded room in a mental institution for failing to cease my opposition to McCain (see #34, the post replied to by yourself).

As far as I am concerned: one, McCain is still a treasonous bastard who has consorted with Communists, Islamic terrorists, and leftists of all stripes, behavior that is wholly unacceptable and wholly unforgiveable for anyone claiming the mantle of conservatism; two, McCain is still in office; and, three, McCain still needs to be held accountable.

It appears that point is lost on you, since you claimed at #68 that "what [I am] doing," i.e., my opposition to and attacks on McCain based on McCain's record, do not constitute "'fighting liberals'" (i.e., that McCain is not a liberal).

If you want to defend McCain by discouraging those who are willing to hold him to public account for his record (and yes, posting on FR does count as doing so) from doing so, then maybe this isn't the right place for you.

Usually, the loser makes the call. Its called being a gracious loser, such as some on here have advocated for McCollum and Lisa what’s her face in Alaska. Seems some on here think its unclassy not to congratulate the winner, except when it comes to JD.

This type of hypocrisy belongs in the DEMONCrat party.

Jerk. I posted his voting record. Don’t call me a liar. Poeple like you helped get us Obama by concentrating on RINOs to the exclusion of the Marxists.

Well, now you are a liar although I didn’t call you that before. I never blasted anyone for intending to vote for McCain after he won the primary so I was not one of those people. You’re a jerk for saying so. Stick it!

I am so sick of the dirty intra-party politics. Ever since the SC primary in ‘00, McCain has been so full of hate for Bush and those who supported him then. Far more than he’s ever hated his VN prison guards.

I think much of McCain’s stab-’em-in-the-back behavior since can be traced right back to SC. It WAS dirty, really dirty. And I’ve always felt “W” should have apologized personally, privately, to McC for what was done to him and his family ostensibly on Bush’s behalf.

So McCain’s carrying on that tradition of trashing a primary opponent is particularly unfortunate.

But as it relates to the present situation, it’s not McCain whose lack of protocol is in question, but JD’s. I’d have hoped he’d have been a bigger man, if for nothing else his own political future. The comment in his concession speech alone is not in the American political tradition, and he knows it better than anyone.

Makes one wonder how much McCain won$ by letting OBamo have the vote....tit for tat.... as his Pres. coffers had plenty for him to use in this run. People ask ‘Why?’ McCain didn’t fight harder against Bo.....well now we see...He is so in the front pocket of Bo and the Demos that it’s beyond sickening. We sure didn’t see him put those bucks out there in his run for Pres. as he put out here.

As for his family....it is said ones wife always refelects her husband....and daughters their mothers...they are all three on the same page.

I said “people like you” as I have not followed your individual posts. However there were no shortage of FR posts last fall vowing never to vote for McCain and how it would somehow be good to get Obama elected so the Republican party could be “cleaned out”. Well here we are with only a few liberal Republicans defeated and a national disaster Crome which we likely won't recover.

Nope it doesn’t belong to them...and I hope to see more of our candidates stop playing nice....MCCain did just that and more and look who we got.

The American people are tired of the nonesense of political correctness demanded by the Democrates while they slam and destroy their opposition and this country. Our country is not playing by the rule of law in the highest office of this land...rather trashing it. And the whole party of Democrates following suite. There needs to be a line drawn that is crystal clear....right down the center of the aisle...and let the games be fought...however they need to be or we will lose out country to these thugs.

" American political tradition.

What does that mean? If you don't know I'll tell you. If Obama screws us or McCain does we remain screwed. Not hard to figure out.

Suckers who believe false humility is somehow noble. That is we are in trouble.

Exactly....and we've got even our soldiers getting killed because of this nonesense of not wanting to offend the enemy. This is beyond insane. Why is it so hard for people to see we have a fight for our country going on within our country?....I say Republicans have to quite playing the parlor games and dang it fight hard and furious..call it what it is and show it!
