Charlie Crist returns $10,000 to Jim Greer

TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Charlie Crist's independent U.S. Senate campaign is refunding nearly $10,000 to Jim Greer after the indicted former Republican Party chairman asked for the money to help pay for his legal defense. ``As you know circumstances have caused me to need money to defend myself and take care of my family,'' Greer wrote in an Aug. 5 letter. ``I know sending the money back is hard, but with what has happened it may be politically beneficial for you to do.''

In the one-page letter, Greer spit fire at the Republicans who ousted him, calling them ``liars, racists and extremists'' but made it clear he still supports Crist. He wrote: ``Charlie over the last three years, I did all that I was asked to do by you and others. Your goals were my goals. When all of the others abandoned you, I remained loyal.''

Crist refuses to return campaign donations to Republicans after abandoning the party. Meanwhile, he promptly returns $9600 to Jim Greer, who knows where all Crist's skeletons are hiding. Scum.

I can’t help but wonder how effective it might be for a group of conservative Republicans (since they’re the only ones with spines) to initiate a class action lawsuit against Charlie Crist alleging political embezzlement based on his abandoning the Florida GOP, and demanding complete refunds to every Republican who donated to Crist prior to his jumping ship.

This $9600 refund to Greer would demonstrate to any court that Crist has the means to refund his ill-gotten campaign donations, I’d like to think Crist would lose such a class action lawsuit, or at the minimum it would force him to spend lots of bucks on legal fees, which would please me no end.

True enough. What is it with 'Charlies'? The 'Rats have Charlie Rangel, the GOP has Charlie Crist, they make StarKist's Charlie the Tuna look like the epitome of class.
