Well, ok, I was just modifying the earlier post. Palins numbers are closer to Pauls than Gingrichs. If these categories are going to be used, Palin belongs in Pauls category, not Gingrichs, based solely on the numbers.

I’m not sure those categories are right at all, though.

There will be people other than those 5 running for President.

Thank you for the clarification. ;o)

However, Palin falls nowhere near Paul, either.

People want to categorize her...put her in some kind of box.

I’m sorry, but that can’t be done. She’s unique, and that’s what I love about her.

That’s what the left hates about her, too.

Good times...;o)

The media, who does not like Palin, wants to paint Palin as a socon. Socons are less popular with “moderates” and liberals than libertarian conservatives.

I think Palin knows this and is staking out the libertarian conservative positions on social issues.

Oh, I’m not saying that Palin and Paul are identical in any way.

I do believe that if the 3 front runners are Palin, a mormon and a preacher, Palin would likely do the best out of the 3 with pot smokers. And Palin has made some public statements that indicate that she would fight the war on marijuana.

I have to agree...those are the three frontrunners...now.

Personally, I like Sarah in the position she’s in at the moment...a King Maker. I don’t care if she ever runs for office, again.

But, were I a pot smoker, I would vote for her over the other two.

BTW, as the occasional ibuprophen user, I would vote for her over the other two forever, and ever.

Amen. ;o)

In other words, the extreme minority who never smoked pot is only slightly less supportive of Palin. Ok ...

Palin is the only reason McLAME did as well as he did... without her.. Juan McLAME would have scored somewhere around MCGOVERN.

So, I guess you are saying that Soros believes in the Bill of Rights - since all federal drug laws are CLEARLY unconstitutional.

Wow...who’da thunk it!

This may require an extra large bag of popcorn!

I would have some popcorn left for this thread, but I finished it all off reading the comments about Ann Coulter speaking to the gay Republicans.

The purpose of a kingmaker is equally to prevent some candidates from being anointed. In the not too recent past, the Republicans have nominated Bob Dole and John McCain, more out of seniority than capability. While it is good to respect your elders because of their age, it is unwise to think that age alone is a reason to nominate someone for president.

While many of us still cringe at the loyalty Sarah Palin still gives to McCain, it is loyalty that she can now give freely, because McCain will never again be in contention for the nomination.

But if you look at the current crop of potential Republican nominees, there are several that are clearly “not Tea Party candidates”, even though they might have backing from some special interest group, or give RINOs a thrill because of their “moderation” and “big tent attitude”.

So if Palin can just prevent these turkeys from assuming the throne, she will have done both the party and the country a profound favor.

They could have stepped forward starting in Jan 2009, and blasted this communist regime day after day on every dastardly deed. They haven't had the cojones.

And if they try to grow a pair now, or next year, they'll be accused of "trying to sound like Sarah Palin."

She's been leading the resistance. What have any of those gutless RINO pissants been doing?

Oh, I completely agree. A minute after I heard she was going to endorse Rand Paul I figured it out. She’ll have to do what she can with the RINOs too, and it won’t be pretty. I remember what it was like when Reagan reached out to the likes of Bill Scranton—”Sell out!” “He’s turned!” “It’s the end of Ronnie as we knew him!”

LOL

Palin began the coalition building inside the Republican party (and soon enough across to the Tea Pary too) about the moment after she resigned as governor. To date, her campaign for president has been the best I’ve seen in my life.

As for those of us on the Right, her standing as a socon is what ultimately validates her (in part precisely BECAUSE the media despises socons).

If we’ve learned nothing over the decades it is that only a socon can be really trusted to hold the line no matter the issue, and even especially on matters of economics and national defense, homeland security, etc. Against all this a little trade-off with the libertarians about marijuana users.... well, frankly, I don’t care and, as it turns out, Rand Paul is a fabulous new presence on our side of the aisle.

If you get 85 percent of what you want in a candidate you are WAY ahead of the game.

The libertarians who are not Judeophobes must have been waiting for someone to come along who was not Ron Paul.
