Reid Supporters Play The Rape Card [Vile, reprehensible stuff, even by 'rat standards]

We have seen this tactic before.

Last January, Democrats in Massachusetts sent out a mailer accusing Scott Brown of wanting to deny medical care to rape victims, because he had introduced state legislation providing health care providers with a religious conscience exemption to providing abortion-related services, so long as alternative arrangements were in place.

The provision proposed by Brown was almost identical to a provision which was in the Democratic health care bill crafted by Harry Reid.

Since such exemption would have applied even to circumstances where the abortion services arose out of a rape, the Democrats played the political rape card by sending a mailer claiming that Brown wanted rape victims turned away from hospitals.

Now we are seeing the rape card used against Sharron Angle because she is pro-Life.

On mulitple occasions, Angle has stated her personal belief that abortion is not justified because life starts at conception. Since Angle’s view is that innocent life should not be taken, the circumstances of the conception make no difference. As a result, Angle’s personal belief is that she would counsel even rape victims who become pregnant to consider carrying the child to term.

Angle’s personal belief is shared by tens of millions of Americans, and is the position of Catholic Church among others.

Predictably, Harry Reid’s supporters have tried to spin Angle alternatively as pro-rape or as someone who wants to force her view on rape victims.

But nothing Angle actually has said supports such conclusions, any more so than Scott Brown proposing a religious conscience exemption made Scott Brown pro-rape or hostile to rape victims.

Is Harry Reid pro-rape and hostile to rape victims because the health care bill has a religious conscience exemption which would apply even in cases of rape?

Playing the rape card is about as low as it gets. But then again, when the goal is to “vaporize” your political opponents, nothing is beyond the pale.

“Vile, Reprehensive Stuff Even By Rat Standards”

Baby-killers are capable of just about anything. They condone murder, why not “reprehensible stuff”?
(What standards of behavior have the Democrats ever adhered to except, lies, insults, obnoxiousness, class warfare, race warfare, villification of people with a few dollars, denigrating and impugning their “enemies”, and on and on.....?)

IMHO

Planned Parenthood IS pro-rape because it is good for business.

When a young girl comes in after being sexually molested by an adult male, rather than notify her parents and the police, they kill the kid and destroy the DNA evidence of the paternal father and let him continue to molest young girls without prosecution or criminal arrest record.

she should make ads stating that Reid is a racist and wants to kill black babies, since he supports abortion, of which an abnormally high percentage rate of abortions are with blacks.

play his soundbites of barak hussein over and over of how he’s “articulate” and can the negro dialect, and pound home how dirty harry wants to eliminate blacks and poor people.

I hate repubs that come to gun fights armed with soft cushy chairs.

I heard this morning on FNC that Reid has a war chest of 16+ million while Angle is sitting on something like 1.5 million. Its going to a long hard fight!

“Old Harry” claims to be a devout Mormon. Perhaps he should read the dictate below from an Elder in his church. Can a Mormon be excommunicated from his church?

Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the LDS Church stated in 1999:

“The Church opposes elective abortion for personal or social convenience. Our members are taught that, subject only to some very rare exceptions, they must not submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange for an abortion. That direction tells us what we need to do on the weightier matters of the law, the choices that will move us toward eternal life.” 2

Within the pro-life movement, there exists a range of beliefs about when abortion should be permitted:
bullet Some say that all abortions should be criminalized, even including those needed to save the life of the woman.
bullet Some would allow abortions if caused by rape or incest.
bullet Some would allow abortions to very young women.
bullet Some would allow abortions in cases where the fetus was so genetically defective that it would not survive long after birth.
bullet Others would allow abortions if a continued pregnancy would expose the woman to very severe and perhaps permanent disability.
bullet Some promote a combination of these and other criteria.

The official stance of the LDS Church reflects a relatively liberal position within the pro-life movement. It allows abortion if the woman’s life or health is threatened, if the pregnancy was the result of rape or incest or if the fetus is severely malformed and would not live long after birth.

This was great— I just linked to this article on a FaceBook thread where a bunch of my psychotic lib friends were jacking each other off with this rape nonsense. And believe it or not— it sunk in!!! With just one for now, but that’s a damn good start!

The mormon church treats reid like the Catholic church treats pelosi, kerry, etc.

Basically a hands off approach.

However, I’ve been led to understand that the mormons have taken no action against Harry because the leaders in SLC say it’s up to Harry’s local bishop to take up the matter.

What I did find interesting is that a couple of years ago BYU invited reid to speak at the college. BYU is operated by an arm of the LdS church, so the leaders in SLC basically gave him a platform to espouse his liberal beliefs.

I agree with your premise (?) that the religious leaders of these fools need to start taking action against them instead of tacitly supporting them by not excommunicating them for espousing and acting upon beliefs that are contrary to their churches stated positions.

Would not be surprised if dingy harry decides to not waste all the 16 mill so he can “enjoy” it in his retirement.

Betcha he’s toast no matter what dirty campaign he runs.

His only hope was LV and his buddie nobama has destroyed that too.
