Here is just one example of how Andrew Sullivan propped up Levi Johnston as the obvious truth-teller within the extended Palin clan. Out of all of them only Levi deserved to be taken seriously. According to Andy, Johnston was the real rogue of 2009.
... His story deserves to be taken more seriously as a real account of what Palin really is. Until Wallace and Schmidt screw their courage to the sticking place, he's the best we've got.
Johnston's account for the reasons for Palin's bizarre resignation are also more convincing than Palin's classic insistence that she was quitting....
Now, comes today the story of Levi Johnston's apology to the Palins and his admission of distorting the facts. Careful, Levi, Andy may begin investigating your birth to prove that you were not born of your real family and, in fact, are a dirty bastard! Oh well, it isn't as if Andy doesn't get off on taking one in the chute from time to time. But did you have to break it off, Levi?? Heh!
Levi Johnston isn't just getting past his differences with Bristol Palin – he's also hoping to make amends with her famous mom.
"Last year, after Bristol and I broke up, I was unhappy and a little angry. Unfortunately, against my better judgment, I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true," he tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I have already privately apologized to Todd and Sarah. Since my statements were public, I owe it to the Palins to publicly apologize."

Palin as Alaska governor vetoed an act of the state legislature banning benefits to same-sex partners of Alaska state employees. Although she was personally opposed to such benefits, and stated that she would support an amendment to the Alaska constitution to that effect, she vetoed the bill on the advice of the state attorney general that the legislation was unconstitutional.
