Of course the Inquirer leaps to her defense. The only "bullying" here was the political bullying of a student by a teacher.

I am glad the parents defended their daughter. So many teachers today try to assert their liberalism on their students. Case in point: my son had an Honors English teacher who announced to the class she was a socialist. During a discussion of WWII, she said that Hitler “didn’t have anything against the Jews... It was a political move”. My son being outraged stood up and said “you can’t murder millions of people and say that it is a political move not motivated by hate”. She threatened to send him to the office and he said “I stand by my convictions”. I have never been prouder. If you don’t have children especially in today’s public schools, you would be very surprised to know how many times conservative values and beliefs are ridiculed by the teacher. Not all but enough of them to be a huge issue.

She is a lot more intent on political indoctrination than on education.

On the one hand, it sounded like the student ignored the purpose of the assignment. On the other, it sounds like the teacher was more interested in indoctrinating her students into her own liberalism than she was in teaching English.

A fine illustration of the benefits of private, parochial schools. Teacher is a hard-line, Left-wing ideologue/advocate who cannot tolerate anyone who disagrees with her. Takes offense at a high school essay. Makes a child's school work a matter of public discussion on a blog. Loses job.

If this had been a public school, she'd still be there indoctrinating the kids, and the teachers' union would be all over the parents and the school district. Also: If the essay had been entitled "Bush Lies," the child would have received an A, an award for excellence, and a scholarship.

if she were a public school teacher the worst she’d get would be fully paid administrative leave while the school board went through the motions of some vain attempt to try and fire her.

I think people who blog about their personal life are idiots. A lot of the Facebook stuff is also idiocy. I can see an expert in an industry or something but a school teacher who probably has three friends.

From the article: In private schools in particular, free expression can also clash with a school's desire to protect its image and to respond to the concerns of the parents who pay the tuition.

How dare these people demand to have some control over what their children are taught. Just who do they think they are to try and oppose the doctrine of lefthink!

/sarcasm

Teacher complains about being fired for her political views yet she sees no problem in criticizing her student’s political views in her blog.

Hope this lib does not return to any indoctrination program of young people! She is dangerous and has MAN hands!

“attack on a child.”

Would those quotation marks have been in the article had the political positions been reversed, with a conservative teacher and liberal student?

We all know the answer, the question was merely rhetorical.

Why can’t they just leave politics alone? I’m a private music instructor, and I simply do not discuss politics. I know, why would I? It’s music. But why would you in a writing class? Leave your politics at the door. It’s good business. Why pick fights?

Gee! Imagine that!...A school that responds to the concerns of the parents! Isn’t the free market great?

Only a horrible disgusting human being uses impressionable children for political indoctrination.

I NEVER force my conservative views on my students. It stops at discussion of history and the constitution.
