When Arizona's new law was signed on Friday, Hispanics demonstrated outside the state capitol in Phoenix, fearful of what it would mean for them. "If a cop sees them and they look Mexican, he's going to stop me," a 18-year-old Hispanic told the Associated Press. "What if people are U.S. citizens? They're going to be asking them if they have papers because of the color of their skin." The young man claimed that he was that even though he was a U.S. citizen he risked being arrested and put in jail.
Other news stories discuss Hispanics believing that they will have to have to carry multiple IDs to avoid prison. "Even if you're legal, you're in fear that maybe your driver's license isn't going to be enough or if you're walking down the street and the police stop you," a 21-year-old University of Arizona college student told CNN. "It's a constant fear we're living in and even legal citizens are afraid to go out."
But it is a dangerous game stirring up fears of people being hunted down and put in jail because of their race or nationality. The law specifically bans picking up someone just because they are Hispanic or even because the person was originally from Mexico or any other country you can read a copy of the law right here. . . .

I totally agree. Many liberals act like people can now be pulled over for being Hispanic or for listening to Tejano music. Cops in Arizona will not seek papers unless they have other reasons to pull the person over or to be at their residence. If an American gets pulled over for not using our blinker, we have to produce ID. The same should be done for everyone, if a person cannot produce ID, can’t speak English and can’t say where they live, that seems like enough reason to check their citizenship.
The final arbiter should be the Supreme Court, not the Obama Administration or US Congress.
The state owned media is spreading fear so that it prevents Republicans from taking the House and Senate.
If one is legal, they have nothing to worry about. I’m Hispanic but since I am an American, I have no such worries.
Their protests are tacit admission that mexicans comprise the vast majority of illegal aliens.
The fear and outrage is all manufactured, except for a few simpletons who don’t understand what’s going on.
The people of Arizona should have the right to enact and enforce their own laws and the federal government should butt out, especially since the federal government won't enforce existing laws to protect our nation against invasion and invasion is exactly what's happening.

Cops know it well.
They shouldn't be afraid; they should be angry. They should be angry at those foreigners of similar ancestry who have taken advantage of our hospitality and made unpleasant measures like these necessary.
In an analogous vein, when I'm hassled by the airlines and have to show up early with a minimal amount (is it 3 ounces now?) of shampoo or toothpaste, and have to submit to TSA screenings, do I get angry primarily at TSA or the airlines? No, I get angry first at the damn Islamics who have made these measures necessary, and second at our inept government that profiles white grandmas to avoid the appearance of profiling.
An inconvenience legal resident--even if he looks Mexican, and perhaps especially if he looks Mexican--should be upset at those who make these laws necessary, namely, illegal aliens, an inept government, and a head in the sand liberal press.

The articles are hopelessly biased toward the idea it will allow racial discrimination based on incorrect information.

I just came back from South Texas and on the way I had to go through a checkpoint. I think they flagged me and had me pull over to the side because I told the man running the checkpoint that the car wasn’t under my name. They proceeded to pat me down and tear my car apart. They even opened my hood and interrogated me about when and where my headlamp had been changed.
Do you think this ruling can be applied to the Constitutionality of that search?
Great point, these illegal immigrants are not only giving hardworking and honest Mexicans a bad name, they are also taking more of the space for people that could have been here legally.

Everybody here legally (green card) should be carrying ID. Every tourist visiting from another country should have a visa and a plane ticket home. Everybody born here should have a Birth Certificate. Everybody who is naturalized has naturalization papers. All the rest? They should become legal, or get out.
