Less than an hour ago, while watching the NBC nitely news covering the French President's visit to our whitehouse, they had a camera angle directly between Obama and Sarkozy to three flags on stands in the distance.
The AMERICAN FLAG was hanging down so low it was touching the floor so plainly that one could see the bottom 4 to 6 inches were deflected by the floor in plain sight!!!
Did anyone else see or capture this disgusting display of disrespect "as seen on TV"??? I sure hope so and I hope a big huge stink is made about it. Surely someone taped, or recorded it with a screen capture or something.
I'm going to look on NBC.com to see if I can find anything. Sorry for the vanity. I don't do this often!!!

I haven’t checked; it seems like NBC has video of almost all their TV stories on the website, seeing as how they’re so impactful and objective, ya know.

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.

UPDATE I: I [David Harsanyi?] just spoke with the person at Invesco who found the flags and he thinks both sides are exaggerating a bit. The person claims the majority of the bags with flags in them were near the trash, on a dock, and would have been thrown away. The person thinks it was probably an “oversight” by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag. But the person doesn’t believe anyone was coming to get them: “The flags were there for a week and a day and no one came looking for them.”

His Wonderfulness would not have put up the flag or have noticed it isn’t displayed properly.
