...To those calling for a civil war, this Marine wants you to stop, and think...

It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.

The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.

Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.

First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.

Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

Unfortunately there is a long history of US troops firing on it's own civilians.

During Washington term with the Whiskey Rebellion...

Lincoln during Civil War at the New York draft riots...

Hoover (with MacArthur)on the Bonus Army....

Nixon National Guard at Kent State...

Clinton at Waco and Ruby Ridge(ATF and FBI)

Do not doubt for a second any present or future government will order troops to shoot down it's own citizens!!!1

It is the left that has created a confrontational situation. They are always wanting more, without contributing. More, more, more. Always in your face, my way or else. Yet they are the underproducers, the over-criminalized, the unlaw-abiding, the drug users, the bums the welfare recipients and the lazy.,

Their whole PC crap, people are tired of it. We can criticize, say what we want, associate with who we want. Screw them.

Leave us the hell alone.

Then the Feds are screwed several different ways, not the least being they wouldn’t get the tax revenue from that state anymore.

As far as “civil war” is concerned, I’m opposed to it. The Commander in Chief has the military, and what can match that? I’m much more in favor of giving the Democratic liars and their fellow liars in the media every “metaphorical” kick in the ass that I possibly can. They’ve earned it.

I have believed for at least 40 years if you don’t like what is happening politically in your state find a candidate that you can support and insure that he is elected. It may take one or two election cycles and you may step on some powerful toes, but ultimately it boils down to having you elected representatives vote on issues in a manner that you like.

You have to get off your dead a$$ and find suitable candidates. Have some gatherings where you meet the candidate or select someone and have gatherings so your like minded friends can get to know and support them. You have to pound the pavement, hand out flyers, create Internet sites, put out messages, etc. In other words take some constructive action. if not you who? if not now, when?

well, the local gunshop here moved 235 M4’s at Christmas as well as fifty two .50 cal sniper rifles. Most of the rest of us are running .30 cals....we may be old, but we will get one of them before they get us.

Dont knock the 1022. With a homemade silencer, it is one of the most fearsome guerrilla weapons going. Shots to the kneecap or high right lung is excruciatingly painful and takes a number of them out of service, and they dont know where it came from.........think about that. Cooper wrote a lot about that.

If the FEDGOV followed the Constitution and the SCOTUS wasn't worthless, they wouldn't have to worry about it.

In his terms he would "frag" people in any state because

He's trying to use jargon. He doesn't mean "frag" as in from a grenade.

Its Fragmentation Order. You would receive a Warning Order (gear up something is a bout to happen), an Op(eration) Order (this is what we are going to do) and a Frag(mentation) Order (these are follow on orders; you've taken objective 1 hold instead of going onto objective 2 etc.

Another poster stated its a debunked hoax. Further Strykers... I wasn't aware of when the USMC got them from the Army (may have but I haven't heard anything about it)

If a person wants their state to secede from the USA, that is not the same thing as asking for war. Actually it is the opposite.

I try to think of it like a divorce. We joined together in this union, but you became to oppressive, so we are leaving. You can keep the dependents, I wont even fight you for them, I just want out. Maybe after the divorce, we can be friends.

This marine is flat out wrong.

This opinion comes from many discussions while on active duty that started with “what would you do if”. The if being ordered to deprive or destroy the rights of the people of this nation. The consensus each time was that we would shoot the one giving the order and then move up the chain of command until either of two things where accomplished. We find sanity or we eliminate command and control.

I do not believe more than one out of twenty on active duty is as stupid as this so called marine.

Active duty US Miltary personel are forbidden by the UCMJ from publishing political opinion statements.

They do it all the time. I do it on this forum. Of course, you'll not see the name "Drew68" on my uniform or anywhere in my service record.

What most of us wisely refrain from doing is signing our political opinions with our name, rank and command. That's where real trouble can happen.

It's all BS...

Likely written by some bloated homosexual government bureaucrat, afraid his lottery style retirement pension is in jeopardy.

These fools don't realize there are 10 times more military veterans on the streets than in the military.

I did time in the military too and have given this matter some thought. I know that the military could kill a lot of civilians if that is all they were trying to do. I also know that no more than 15,000 poorly equipped and poorly educated third world terrorists at any one time in Iraq kept most of the Army, Air Force and MC tied up for years. If push comes to shove there will likely be many times that number opposing the government here, in a country tens of times the size of Iraq. It would not be a cake walk, it would be a nightmare for the military and any thinking person recognizes that fact. It is my guess that many soldiers and marines will choose not to kill their countrymen. Some will but some will not. I think the military may just wash their hands of the whole thing if it happened because of that and do the wait and see what happens thing. I have sons in the Army now and I don’t think either of them would kill Americans just because they were ordered to intimidate the population. I taught them that their oath is to the constitution, not to any political party or person. I also taught them to only obey lawful orders and moral ones. Of course they are military brats and I may have raised them with more attention to such matters than most civilian parents. I don’t see wasting the citizens of the USA as being either lawful or moral unless they attack you first. If any troops choose to go that route, they had better make certain that their side wins because there will certainly be charges waiting for them if they lose. Using military force to control the US population is NOT what the military is for but that is just my 2 cents worth. I don’t pay my taxes so this guy and his buddies can run LAVS through my lawn. I guess this guy must be in an elite unit if he regularly shoots 200 live rounds a day in training. I used to be a battalion training guy and know the STRAC manual and annual allocations of ammo per troop. There are not many folks in the military who shoot 200 rounds a day or even 200 a month. Most troops shoot about 200-400 rounds in training per year and it shows, most are poor marksmen. I have always stayed more proficient using my personally owned weapons and my own ammo on my own dime than on the training the Army provided me. I regularly shoot more ammo in one range visit that I did in a year in the Army. i think the author is pretty much full of cr@p.

Yep. This marine (if he’s not a fake), would rather be the face of tyranny. Defending the Constitution cannot occur if it ceases to mean anything. This guy does not respect our Constitution and could not tell the difference between the US or Soviet version. As long as it says, Constitution, this guy will be content to put you and me in a FEMA camp or just do a summary execution ostensibly in the name of defending freedom.
Right out of Orwell’s 1984.
