President Obama took the unusual step Wednesday afternoon of issuing a special denunciation of Cuba's human rights policies, after a year of advocating improved relations after nearly a half-century of political estrangement with the island neighbor.
"Instead of embracing an opportunity to enter a new era," Obama said (full text below), "Cuban authorities continue to respond to the aspirations of the Cuban people with a clenched fist."
As recently as last summer at a Caribbean summit, Obama and Raul Castro talked separately of opening discussions on a wide range of issues including human rights. The country's semi-retired revolutionary leader, brother Fidel Castro, had warm words when Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in the autumn.
But then in December the Cuban icon said Obama's warm smile could not be trusted.

They must have done something to offend him personally.
The response from Granma will be amusing.
By the way, is Fidel dead? He seems to be withering away.

Because Cuba has a better Health Care System than we do now that Obama signed the Health Care Reform Bill.

Still no National Security Strategy to deal with Cuba.
He just wings it from day to day.

We had a National Security Strategy in regard to Cuba under the elder Bush, Clinton, and GWB.
We (Military) are operating under the most current NSS but Obama has not presented his NSS.
It was due by law in July 2009 by the Goldwater-Nichols Act.
The CIC has no plan.
To: Jet Jaguar
so how to force him to do it?

I dunno.
Hit keyword “NSS”
See many articles that explain how the US military, State Dept., CIA, Border Control, HHS, and other alphabet organizations, are supposed to be operating.
And then see how a lack of common policy and direction confuses the direction and policies of each organization when situations arise.

Probably because there's a Cuban protest coming up in Miami and Obama seeks to peel off the younger generation of these traditionally conservative voters by trying to sound like something other than the guy their parents and grandparents fled from.
With Obama, all his decisions are about how to enhance the Party's power and control, not about some poor sucker's misery in a Cuban rathole.

Maybe he has to criticize Cuba to look good to our public, before he starts bringing in Cuban “doctors” like Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela.

This is, indeed, strange.
Cuba has been a Marxist state for many years, and now the USSA is a Marxist state.
I would expect Obambie and Castro to be two peas in a pod.
