Real taxpayers should correspondingly increase the hell out their claimed exemptions to ‘delay’ paying the states what they are due.

I have had people laugh at me when they say we should pay more into our taxes as kind of a savings plan and I tell them no way. I can save money on my own and why would I trust the government with it.

If people hate paying taxes, they will hate it worse when a state withholds their refund. There will be a backlash, believe me.

About as stupid as aging a regular stream of invoices.

I think the most widely read book these days must be, “Lessons from Ponzi”.

Hey, maybe they could make some withdrawals from the bank accounts of people who have any money in their bank accounts, too!

All money rightfully belongs to the government, anyway.

If you withhold paying your taxes they can send you to prison.

If they withhold your refund, it’s “oh well, we need it more than you do. Maybe some day we’ll give it to you. What are you gonna do about it?”

The not-so-simple way to handle this is to apply your refund to your 2010 taxes and then reduce your state tax withholding so that you in effect get back a portion of the lost refund in each paycheck.

If you live in a state where they delay or otherwise muck up your refund IMMEDIATELY change your state withholding to zero.

DO NOT, under any circumstances give the state a nickel of your money until tax day if they can’t manage to get YOUR MONEY back to you in a timely manner.

I just bet that my state of Hawaii will be one. Thanks to 56 years of uninterrupted one-party Democrap rule.

Yeah, you should have your withholding set so you get little to nothing back anyway. Better yet, owe them money. The penalties are usually a joke anyway. The only people this is a problem for is people that use their refund as a no interest savings account.

‘our own gov’t and it's loyal legions of public employees and their unions have become engines of plunder’ and they will do whatever is necessary to maintain their status and control over the citizens they were supposed to serve. Pick the pockets, then the bones of every last productive taxpayer

For two years of my life I managed to owe nothing and get nothing back. Perfection.
