Las Vegas would be an EXCELLENT statement! Good idea!
The Team of Mitt Romney-care that WORKED hard
to throw Election2008 to Obama should not be rewarded,
if the GOP is to have an iota of credibility
and integrity.
I really wonder about the GOP some most times.
Not unless they want to test us to see how many of us really mean it when we say we won’t vote for Mitt Romney. I haven’t skipped a Presidential election in my life, but I will NEVER vote for Mitt Romney.
Oooooh, great idea.
If they have it in Tampa, I’ll go to the convention...
since I already live there.
Too bad Las Vegas didn’t make the cut due to it’s mayor trashing Obama recently.
Salt Lake will be the best for that time of the year. Tampa will be in Hurricane season so it would require a contingency location and planning. Phoenix is about 110F at this time and it would be miserable.
“The Republican National Committee named three cities on Friday as potential hosts for the 2012 Republican National Convention: Phoenix, Tampa and Salt Lake City.”
“You can see that the McCain and Romney people are tightly in control of the DNC.”

The #2 kidnapping capital of the world! Yahoo!
Wow.
Do you really think that's unique to Utah? Come to Pennsylvania for an encore or tell me anywhere people actually use turn signals.
If the cops would be half as enthusiastic about ticketing non-signalers as they are speeders, maybe something would change.
Why not Chicago? Detroit? Atlanta? LA? NYC?
Tampa! The only choice because of Romney and McCain!
Count on it.
My husband aand I feel the exact same way. NO more party head choices let the people decide!
Count on it.
They chose all the homes of the RINOs.
Tampa => Jeb Bush
The RINOs must be purged and sent back to the DNC.
They should have chosen Los Vegas. That would have been a hoot.
Historically and statistically speaking, Tampa has a 1 in 25 chance of a direct hit - less than other areas of Florida. Compare that to Miami, which has 1 in 6 chance and Pensacola with a 1 in 7 chance.
The last direct major hurricane hit (Cat 3) was 1921, the last direct hurricane hit (Cat 1) was in 1946, and the last indirect hurricane hit (Cat 2) was Hurricane Gladys in 1968. No, it doesn't mean Tampa won't get a direct hit again, but odds are Miami will get hit sooner :-) The main thing you have to worry about in Tampa is LIGHTNING!
Downtown Tampa is awesome - the Convention Ctr is surrounded by some of the best hotels, parking garages, the St. Pete Times Forum, Ybor City is nearby, you can't beat the variety of restaurants.
Transportation is great too...you can catch a hotel shuttle, a public bus, a trolley, or you can walk to most places. I've attended the Florida Music Educators Association convention in Tampa for the past 3 years and I've always felt safe walking or driving in downtown Tampa.
