Its fascinating to watch the world try to turn the Dubai assassination into a debacle for Israel all because the team members were captured on CCTV and the British and Irish authorities are making a momentary stink about the use of forged British and Irish passports.
You, the reader of this post, will be captured on CCTV a dozen times today simply going about your business. The people calling the operation sloppy and a debacle seem to actually believe that the Mossad is unaware that there are video cameras in airports and hotels today, or that the passport photos of the agents would not be revealed to the public. Really.
More important, the fact of the matter is that the team got into Dubai, rubbed out a bad guy, and got out. No drama, nobody was captured, and nobody knows the real identities of the team or where they are now. Given the extraordinary risk and complexity of the operation, thats a win in my book. And now the Iranians, Syrians, and their terrorist clients have been given another reminder that their people arent safe anywhere even in the heart of the Arab world.

Do it in Dubai!
- What happens here, stays here!
Dubai allows free passage to as terrorist, a combatant in a war against Israel, and expects the Israelis to just sit by?
Job well done by Israel. Hopefully a lesson learned by Dubai.
If I were one of the bad guys, this hit would scare the crap out of me. This team goes into Dubai, knocks off a high ranking Hamas guy, and gets away with it. I would be shaking in my boots.
Sometimes the openess of a ‘covert’ action is meant to send a measure. I believe the measure has been sent the only question is will the intended receive it????
Its a war. To win, heads must roll. I have no problem with the covert assassination of terrorist leaders.
It is a bit of a problem that it wasn’t covert enough — when covert actions become open, it can cause political and diplomatic problems. But, still, its better to mop up a diplomatic SNAFU than to have one more terrorist walking the earth.
I’m sure the agents that were involved have been getting a lesson on what “covert” means, or at least an earful from superiors, ever since.

message not measure
It was awfully James Bondish. That’s something new.
Why is fraudulently using another country’s passport a minor matter?
What if roles were reversed, and another country’s hit squad used forged Israeli passports? Don’t you think Israel would be screaming about that?
Israel pulled this same crap with forged Canadian passports a few years ago, and were forced to publicly apologize for it - apparently they didn’t think it was minor.
If it was even Israel that did it
Well they couldn’t very well have used Israeli passports now could they.
It was cheaper to use 10 live man drones and a woman drone than a UAV.
Israel warned Hamas almost one year ago:
“We operate everywhere where we can hit terror infrastructure - in close places, in places further away, everywhere where we can hit terror infrastructure, we hit them and we hit them in a way that increases deterrence,” said Olmert, speaking at a conference in Herzliya”

So, they quit using Canada passports didn’t they? It’s not like there weren’t umpty-ump other false flags they could use.
There’s what, 140-something countries in the world? Couldn’t have forged a Syrian or Libyan passport??
This, at a time when Israel is trying to drum up support among Western countries for action against Iran. So what do they do? Forge passports from two countries on the security Council (England & France) that Israel is counting on for sanctions support. Brilliant. Could they alienate public opinion any more?
So let’s review - taking out some no-name terrorist in exchange for ticking off two crucial supporters needed to confront an existential threat. This is short-term thinking at its worst.
Maybe the Mossad head should write a book - “How to Lose Friends and Not Influence People”.
Everyone in the world who counts respects competence. This was done very competently. It sends a powerful message. It is only assumed that Israel did it. It cannot be proved.
This operation had to have plenty of detailed planning based on solid intel - Hammas has to wonder about Mossad’s sources. Do they have a mole or has an informant been turned? Are their communications compromised? Are any of their allies playing a double game?
Lots to keep ones head tossing on the pillow all night long.
Daniel Silva - eat your heart out.
Yeah they stopped - but only after (a) they got their asses hauled into court and (b) the Israeli ambassador got read the Riot Act by the Canadian Government.
Then they did the same thing with New Zealand, and got nailed there too.
Does Israel want no help in confronting Iran? They sure seem to be going out of their way to ensure exactly that.
Iran is a loose cannon getting ready to shoot. Anyone who understands Moose understands this, no matter what Dinner Jacket says. For Canada and New Zealand to spurn undercover teamwork with Israel to undermine Iran would involve cutting off their noses to spite Jewish faces.
NOT! As long as you don't have unmarried sex on a public beach, indulge in witchcraft, get falling down drunk in public, wear shorts during Ramadan, or murder a high profile Hamas leader AND leave his body in the 5 star hotel room . . . CSI Dubai will leave you alone. This might have gone unnoticed if they had just dumped his body in the desert.
The French will not support them, so they do not matter.
I don’t care if they use a forged American passport. What’s it to you?
