has developed a new anti-missile missile to deal with long range (up to 200 kilometers) rockets. Their Stunner missile is yet another development of the Israeli Python heat seeking air-to-air missile. Stunner apparently came out of the work to develop the recent Spyder anti-aircraft missile. Spyder is a mobile, short range system using, as many such systems do these days, air-to-air missiles. Spyder launchers (truck mounted, with four box like launch cells each) can carry either the Python 5 heat seeking missile (ten feet long, 231 pounds, with a range of 15 kilometers) or the Derby radar guided missile (11.2 feet long, 267 pounds, with a range of 65 kilometers). The Derby is actually a larger Python, with more fuel and a different guidance system. Stunner appears to be a longer Spyder/Derby missile, with dual seekers in the nose.
Each Spyder system has four missile launcher trucks, a radar truck and a missile re-supply truck. Each system costs about $11 million. Spyder radar system has a maximum range of 100 kilometers. The missiles can hit targets as high as 28,000 feet and as low as 65 feet. With boosters (to increase speed at launch) and the right seekers, a modified Spyder could take down incoming long-range rockets.

As a sovereign nation ,they have every right to develop what ever weapons they want to as does every other country. If they use their weapons to aggressively attack a country in preemption and without an attack on their borders then they blatantly violate international law and stand in the same shoes as the Japanese at Pearl Habnor.
Tehran, Damascus, Riyadh et al in one mass blast.
Israel takes care of business unlike our Liberal morons in the White House and Congress!
All blessings through Israel.
Since their neighbors have already fired tens of thousands of missiles supplied by Iran into their country..... NOTHING Israel does to Iran is unprovoked or preemptive.
That is so true.
The problem is in the ratios. These missiles are expensive that the long range rockets are cheap and inaccurate. They are weapons of terror not targeting. I guess the Israeli’s will only attempt to shoot down those that have a trajectory that might actually hit something important.
Otherwise..it is a loosing formula.
Interesting test. If we supply weapons to South Korea and they use them on North Korea then North Korea can attack us? That opens up many more hypotheticals. Hundreds. Are you sure you want to go there?
Very true!!
Nice try. Now FOAD.
From this and some other posts of yours, I am assuming you’re no friend of Israel?
They need a missile which will detonate an enemy incoming nuclear missile in a nuclear reaction - inside the national boundaries of the nation which launched it.
And I hope they have it and use it if Iran launches a missile at them.
Truth hurts bad. Does it not. Sorry for the typo. AFYT
My kids won’t die for them. WE have our own problems and aggression right here on our southern border. And we are as broke as a shoeless old woman.
Horse Sh!t
Israel experiences unprovoked attack everyday at the hands of front groups operating as quasi-extensions of the Iranians, the Syrians, and Saudi-funded underground organizations.
I fault the Israelis only for not unleashing absolute problem resolution years ago. You want Middle East peace? Really?
Let Israel take care of business, world leaders and the U.N. express “outrage” and “condemnation” for short while........and quietly, behind many a closed door around the world, a lot of brows are wiped and “whew, glad that’s over and done with” ‘s are uttered.
Good riddance to bad, backwards, Middle-Ages, violently religious rubbish.
Logically, we can conclude that you support Iran's nuclear program, and that you are also against preemptive strikes to prevent them from becoming nuclear capable. That we must wait until they attack someone...
Unprovoked - yes. As for preemptive, that's a different matter.
The newbie must be a turn-the-other-cheek "Jimmie Carter." Who else would expect their citizens to be annihilated before attempting to retaliate (if at all possible at that point).
A good defense is often a good offense!
