Scientology's yellow-shirted "volunteer ministers" ...are on the ground in Haiti right now warning the starving, dehydrated populace about psychiatry.
He says, "I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics.
"I hope that inspires others as well. It's needed."
Here's how they do it:
* The "Purification Rundown": After 9/11, Scientology set up a clinic in downtown Manhattan where firefighters sat in saunas, worked out, and took niacin and other vitamins, a regime that toxicologists have derided as "quackery."
* "Touch Assists": Scientologists descended on India in the wake of the Tsunami to save lives with "touch assists," which, according to this Washington Post story, consisted of a mechanic from Michigan touching people and saying "feel my finger" over and over.
# "Locational Assists": After traumas, people sometime's forget where they are maybe? To remind earthquake victims that they are still stuck in Haiti, volunteer ministers will be performing this vital medical procedure, quoted here verbatim from the Scientology Handbook:
5. Continue giving the command, directing the person's attention to different objects in the environment. Be sure to acknowledge the person each time after he has complied.
For instance, you say, "Look at that tree." "Thank you." "Look at that building." "Good." "Look at that street." "All right." "Look at that lawn." "Very good." You point each time to the object.
6. Keep this up until the person has good indicators and a cognition. You can end the assist at this point. Tell the person, "End of assist."
# "Nerve Assists": This is basically a back massage, which if performed properly will dislodge the "standing wave" of trauma that is preventing horribly wounded and completely bereft Haitian earthquake victims from leading normal, satisfactory, psych-free lives.

Hey at least he is doing something. The hollywood folks have definitely stepped up. Conservatives have done nothing. We have to give cudos when they are earned and Hollywood has certainly put their money where their mouth is. Rush has sent how much money???? What about Beck??? O’Reilly? Oh ZERO. Come on much to complain about but not doing good things. Travolta has given cash along with this strange stuff.

People who really give charitably don’t do it for the publicity. Hollywood is all about publicity so they always tout their own generosity. True charity is done without strings and without fanfare. You have no idea whether these guys have given or not because they have no obligation to report it.
Part of donating is not announcing to the world that you ARE donating.
It’s called humility.
Just because they do not crow about their charitable givings, does not mean they are not donating. What business is it of yours anyway.
This is satire, right?
I’m sure there are many working behind the scenes. I believe O’Reilly already stated he gave regularly prior to the earth quake and urged people to contribute. I heard Bill Frist is going to volunteer his medical services. As I said, I’m sure there are alot more working behind the scenes. Conservatives dont advertise their charitable donations or look for that pat on the back.
Frist is there working in a hospital right now!
As long as he’s not sending “Battlefield Earth” DVDs. Those poor people have suffered enough.
scientology was created on a bet L.Ron Hubbard had with some other writers that he could create the craziest religion imaginable and still get people to follow it.
He was right.
As Jesus said: “But when you give alms, do not know let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”
If charity is public, the great temptation is to do it for show. Do it privately - the more privately the better.
