Boo! Hoo! Andrew Sullivan Mourns 'Looming Landslide' in Mass. Election

Break out the hankies! Andrew Sullivan has gone into deep melodrama mode over at The Atlantic and is now mourning the "looming landslide for Brown." For the gloomy Sullivan tomorrow could signal not only the loss of an election but also the loss of health care and, ultimately, the loss of socialist America itself. Enjoy the act from the Sullivan Theater as Andrew presents his version of The End:

Democrats can stop hoping at this point.

I can see no alternative scenario but a huge - staggeringly huge - victory for the FNC/RNC machine tomorrow. They crafted a strategy of total oppositionism to anything Obama proposed a year ago. Remember they gave him zero votes on even the stimulus in his first weeks. They saw health insurance reform as Obama's Waterloo, and, thanks in part to the dithering Democrats, they beat him on that hill. They have successfully channeled all the rage at the massive debt and recession the president inherited on Obama after just one year. If they can do that already, against the massive evidence against them, they have the power to wield populism to destroy any attempt by government to address any actual problems.

If the election goes the way I hope, we are sure to see a lot more such melodrama in the near future.

"They crafted a strategy of total oppositionism to anything Obama proposed a year ago."

Well, it worked. Do you wonder why?

He has to know that the Repubican leadership isn’t that smart and that makes this story more epic, right?

Oh dear. His knickers are in more than a twist, his knickers are in a mobius strip of despair. But I agree with this statement:

The Democrats are a clapped out, gut-free lobbyist machine. The Republicans are insane.

The embarassing thing is that the RNC has done NOTHING to encourage the voters to vote for their candidate. No ideas, no plans - their sole recipe for winning is “He’s not a Democrat”.

Spine? Leadership? Balls? Nope, the RNC hasn’t heard of them since Reagan died.

Leftwingers are funny that way. Mentally fragile at best, they easily become unstable when reality kicks in and disrupts their gauzy view of the world. Recall the "trauma" counselors who came out of the woodwork after the 2000 election to treat "post-election trauma?" And the pathetic wretches who report becoming depressed because they can't have a real "Pandora" to go to?

Liberalism as a mental illness--the evidence continues to mount.

Hey, Andy - if you think tomorrow is gonna be bad, just wait till the mid-terms. You might wish to reserve a spot on the ledge of the nearest skyscraper.

Exactly what the dimoKKKRATS did to President Bush. Of course the dimoKKKRATS had the full on support of the msm which we do not.

FNC/RNC Machine? Where is it? Certainly not in Massachusetts. It'd be a victory Scott Brown and his team, and the voters of Mass. and those who supported him all around the US.

And win or lose, ignoring the FNC/RNC and contributing directly to candidates is definitely the way to do it.

I want to make it clear I don’t know Scott Brown from Adam and do not care. Martha Coakley kept an innocent man in prison and protected a child molester. She is pure evil. While I have no respect for anyone who takes their clothes off for the camera, this is not a hard choice. Too bad I’m in Texas I guess.

and the melodrama from the left will be beautiful.

"They have successfully channeled all the rage at the massive debt and recession the president inherited on Obama after just one year"

Is this "guy" really that dammed stupid? I wonder if he compared the current deficits to years past? If he's lying, I wonder if he believes we are dumb enough to go along with what he's telling us....

He's had way too much ass. The fecal material must be eating away at his brain.
