CONCORD Democrats in the House and Senate voted yesterday to bar firearms and other deadly or dangerous weapons from the State House and two other buildings.
A special committee that oversees legislative facilities voted to reinstate a gun ban that had been in effect from 1996 to 2006. The new ban includes the Legislative Office Building, the nearby Upham Walker House and a connecting tunnel.

Is somebody getting nervous?
Every effing one of them from nearly every legislature in this country should be afraid.
LOL --- Someone is being naughty and people are figuring them out.
They should be afraid. They have now felt the first tremours of a revolt by America against government at all levels, the people prepare to remove their, “consent of the governed.”
This law or regulation will not help them even one little bit, if it comes to THAT.The legislature will be the last place they want to be, it will no longer be theirs. It will be taken back.
Hmm... Might as well hang a sign on the front door that says, “Attention Violent Criminals, Building Full of Victims!”
Does this ban include government guns?
The cancer from MA spreads northward.
Yeah. Ban ‘em. That’ll work.

Sorry for no hot link...I'm html challenged.
So, say you are a legislator who drives to work. This means that you must not carry once you leave home. Or else you must leave your weapon in your parked car, which I do not think is a good idea, because cars can always be broken into by bad guys. I bet that there are at least some legislators who have carry permits, and now they can’t use them.
New Hampshire has reasonable carry laws (you need a permit, but even non-residents can get one, but it must be issued by NH.) They do not honor the famous Florida permit. However, this may change, because they have growing numbers of ‘rats in the state, including the governor. They have been inundated by rich riff-raff from Massachusetts.

We have firearms preemption in RSA 159:26. This so-called “rule” is a dead letter feel-good nullity. The very first people who will “violate” this “rule” will undoubtedly be dozens of state legislators who routinely carry firearms on their persons, and an attempt to enforce it will be met with derision, as well as the pointy end of legislative or court action.
Any politician that is afraid of being in the presence of armed constituents is a politician that the constituents should be afraid of.
"At least some?" Come visit New Hampshire some time, and we'll introduce you to a few of the dozens and dozens of firearm or knife-carrying legislators who frequent our State House.
The preemption statute applies to "political subdivisions" - a term which is generally understood to mean towns, counties, cities and other incorporated areas. There is no general definition of the term that I can find, but the definition found in Title 31: Powers and Duties of Towns, is consistent with such a reading.
The legislature is generally not considered a political subdivision. That being said, I have no idea what the enforcement mechanism for this policy might be under Chapter 17-E of Title 1. It seems that the only thing they might be able to do is enforce it as a trespass if someone is asked to leave but refuses.
RSA 17-A:5-a gives them power to make the rules, but doesn't address enforcement. What I haven't found yet is whether there's an enforcement mechanism elsewhere in the statutes that might apply here.
I’m guessing they’re a gettin’ a little bit scared of some of the rumblings coming from the unwashed masses like us. If I was them, I’d be less worried about pistols and more on the lookout for buckets of warm tar and big old feather pillows. Just sayin’...
There’s going to be a veritable hurricane of condemnation from legislators. Not all of them carry firearms, but I expect that a good many of them carry at least a pocketknife, even among the Democrats.
Heck, back in the day, one of them was known to carry a sword-cane.
