Confessions of an ObamaCare Backer [Liberal tells truth]
Wall St Journal ^ | Nov 10, 2009 | Editorial

Posted on 11/10/2009 2:18:01 AM PST by The Raven

... Mr. Cassidy is more honest than the politicians whose dishonesty he supports. "The U.S. government is making a costly and open-ended commitment," he writes. "Let's not pretend that it isn't a big deal, or that it will be self-financing, or that it will work out exactly as planned. It won't. What is really unfolding, I suspect, is the scenario that many conservatives feared. The Obama Administration . . . is creating a new entitlement program, which, once established, will be virtually impossible to rescind."

Why are they doing it? Because, according to Mr. Cassidy, ObamaCare serves the twin goals of "making the United States a more equitable country" and furthering the Democrats' "political calculus." In other words, the purpose is to further redistribute income by putting health care further under government control, and in the process making the middle class more dependent on government. As the party of government, Democrats will benefit over the long run.

Is it the fear of the unknown or greed for other people's money that drives them?

It’s the death wish. To never have to think about anything or do anything ever again.

It’s so hard to believe that the dems in power (and I use that word in it’s full meaning) could care so little for their children, and their grandchildren, their neighbors, friends.

they have to know how this is going to work out. I cant believe so many middle aged men have suddenly fallen in love with abortion and homosexuality, that they would betray their country like this. The ones in the big cities I can understand - they’ve been raised on the kool-aid, but what about the ones in ‘flyover’ country? There are that many of them who put getting re-elected above doing the right thing?

It’s definitely time to make these guys uncomfortable when they go back to their home states and try to pretend that they care about the people who WORK to pay their salaries and let them act like they are doing what the people want.

I’m just so disgusted today......

Time has come to start redistributing the wealthy Congressional Democrats' money, e.g. Pelosi, Kerry, Reid, et al... outsiders: Gore, Oprah, Michael Moore, Hollywood celebrities, etc.

Do these maggots think that won't happen?

As a primary care physician, I can guarantee this: when Medicare level of reimbursements are more than the usual 20 or 30% of a physician's practice that physician will be working for charity, essentially. Medicare just about covers overhead.

What will the gummint do when physicians decide to close their practices down rather than work 12 hours a day just to lose money? Will the FORCE physicians to see patients? If you had trouble finding healthcare in the COnstitution where in the world will you see the gummint telling one person that OTHER PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO HIS TIME?

If, like HillaryCare, "off the books" practice is a felony then many physicians will become criminals. So we come to a point where creating criminals is not something the government despises but rather a goal to manipulate what were formerly citizens. All this, right here in what was once America. SO sad, really. And all just under the ruse of "providing care for the poor."

Indeed, it is envy and jealousy.

I encounter so many people who are envious and jealous.

Those types of people should be avoided.

They are destroying society to increase their own political power. (Look what welfare has done to the black family.)

Yes exactly! Let them live off a 100,000 dollar a year income or less, and make them give all their millions to the poor. Open all their mansions for the homeless to live. Live how they want us lowly people live.

My endocrinologist is the only board certified endocrinologist in the county in which I live. When I asked him what he thought of medical care reform he said, “Today I started work at 7:30 am and will leave at 6:30 pm. I am currently paid by the number of patients I see. Government run medical care will put me on a salary. As a salaried worker I will work the minimum number of hours per day required to earn my salary because I will have no incentive to work overtime seeing additional patients. I will see 20% fewer patients per day. Who will take care of the patients I am no longer seeing?’

The unintended (or is it intended?) consequence of Obamacare will be a dramatic reduction in the number of physician hours at the same time 30 to 40 million newly covered “customers” come into the system. There will be no choice but to significantly ration care. Availability of care will become a political decision determine by government bureaucrats. Undoubtedly the elderly will bear the brunt of rationing if availability of care is determined by government bureaucrats.

I see a new business opportunity. Convert cruise ships to hospital ships stationed outside the 10 mile limit. Those who can afford it will be transported to those floating medical care facilities where they can receive high quality care outside the government system. These facilities will cater to the Hollywood elite, the Wall Street investment bankers, and the corporate bigwigs. The rest of the country will enjoy the rationed, low cost care found in Cuba. No doubt Michael Moore will choose to visit one of the offshore hospital spas.

That’s what SSocialists pretends, with a so-called “compassion” for poor people, but this is a complete intellectual hijacking of certain people becoming political clients!

Libtard OBAMAOists are going backward!
SSocialism is an old story and i understand why Barack Hussein was not in BERLIN

One could have expected such a statement from a Republican!

At least true Republicans might jump on that statement and highlight it

I am Frustrated at the Coverage of this, all you hear is How terrible this Take over is going to be ,its, he says this about the Bill and she says that ,I WANT SPECIFICS,explain to the Public by quoting section and Page Numbers of the Bill dont speak in Generalities,we need Bumper sticker phrases,DONT BUY HEALTH CARE? GET IT FREE IN THE BIG HOUSE. ABORTION IS NOT HEALTH CARE.
Explain to the Public that the Regulations for what kind of Health Care you get and what it will cost is not going to be written until 18 months after the Bill becomes Law ,do you think you will like what Dr. Death, Ezekiel Emmauel is going to FORCE you to do? He is Chairman of the Death Panel that was passed into law in the Stimulus Bill with a 1.1 billion dollar budget. How many American know THAT? We are all being sold a Bill of goods

The purpose of this is that of any other entitlement, to secure Democrat votes for years to come. What better way to get people to vote for you if they know you can deny them health care?

I guarantee that once government takes over health care, no one who doesn't support 0bama will ever see the inside of a doctor's office or hospital ever again.

ObamaCare serves a third Radical Democrat goal of "making the United States broke". Constrain the United State's economy into a European choice between Medicine, now only Nationalized Medicine, and National Defense. The European's have chosen Nationalized Medicine, the Welfare State, and a hollowed out military dependent upon the US. The future will be very dangerous when the US military is dismantled.

I don’t know about neighbors and friends, but they’ve already taken care of their children and grandchildren through amassed wealth and powerful connections. Even in third world countried, the elites live in high style.

they are really foolish enough to believe that when resources run out, when we (the working class) have no jobs left to support the ‘entitled’ - that they will be immune from the backlash? that their constituents won’t ‘storm’ their offices in revolt and possibly persecute them for their crimes again the United States?

but then, I also assume there will be fair elections in the future, so maybe I am just dreaming.

"As the party of government, Democrats will benefit over the long run."

We'll just see about that.
If AFTER 2010 the buggers retain power, I'll concede the above point. But not 'til then.

If things go as many of us pray it does, the Democrats days as a party of government will be greatly reduced. 2010.
