Michelle Obama gave a tear-jerker of a speech during which she recounted that she sat on her father's lap while watching Carl Lewis' triumphs in the Olympics.
But Carl Lewis's first Olympics was in 1984 when Michelle Obama was 20 years old.
So either there was something weird going on between her and her father or she was flat-out lying.
Her suicide belt was too tight and it cut off the oxygen to her brain.

I suspect the IOC was impressed by the reference to Carl Lewis,...the reportedly gay vegan druggie guy drafted by the Chicago Bulls and never played a game after he bragged to everybody about his wins in the Olympics, the son/daughter of another Olympian. (Even CocaCola withdrew their offer for his endorsements after the Olympics and his reputation was developing.)

IMHO, folks like Carl Lewis diminish the Games. Emulating Carl Lewis, other than an ability to jump high and run fast, reflects volumes on character.
We did not go to the Moscow 1980 games - so had to be 1984.

My thoughts exactly! I immediately thought of Hillary’s fairytale of how she happened to be named Hillary, too. To this day, she has never been called on it by the SRM. Imagine had it been Barbara or Laura Bush who had so obviously lied. Oh, I forgot! Those two first ladies, to my knowledge, never did so.

How about Al Gore—who claimed he was rocked to sleep as a baby with his parents singing the pro-labor anthem “Look for the Union Label” as a lullaby.

Carl Lewis ran in the 1980 Olympics? For which country? Under what pseudonym? If Michelle Obama sat on her Daddy's lap cheering on Carl Lewis in the Olympics, the earliest date would have been 1984, making her 20.
Even if you can disregard the creepy aspect, or get over the ridiculous picture of a 6 ft. woman of substantial heft sitting on the lap of a man with Multiple Sclerosis....
...there's evidence she and her father weren't even located in the same time zone during the summer of '84. (Unless her father was attending summer camp in New York, where she was a counselor.) Political columnist Lynn Sweet reported in August of last year that Michelle worked at Camp ABC for the Fresh Air Fund.
Bottom line is, no one's "running after" this as an issue, if the issue is where her large rump was in the summer of '84. It is, however, wholly legitimate to notice when the the First Lady of the U.S. tells deliberate whoppers for self-serving reasons while on the national stage.
Run with it, the way the odumbos lie something else will be unveiled
