IT'S A RIOT: Young members of anarchist groups hold violent demonstrations during Friday's G-20 finance meetings in Pittsburgh.

Politics: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi berated town hall and tea party protesters this month, tearfully warning they'd incite violence. Well, there's been violence all right, at Pittsburgh's G-20. But it wasn't the tea partiers.

It takes gall to characterize ordinary Americans, freely exercising their rights of speech and assembly in civic forums, as "mobs" while ignoring a pack of leftist thugs now smashing a U.S. city. But that's what Pelosi did, directing her righteous tocsin to the Norman Rockwell-like gatherings of Americans who opposed her expansion of government this past summer.

"I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi said, choking up, her eyes brimming with tears.

"This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made," she told a congressional forum Sept. 17 in a bid to silence peaceful protesters.

Scroll ahead one week to the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh: Some 1,000 hooded rioters descend on the city waving signs such as "Smash the G-20" and "Eat the Rich." Many take "direct action" to "challenge capitalism" in what organizers brazenly call an "unpermitted protest."

Unlike the town hall citizens, they didn't "hurl" statements — just tire irons, bricks and rocks, in an effort to damage private businesses.

"I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw said ... I saw said this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi said, choking up, her eyes brimming with tears of fond recollection.

"Good times." she reminisced.

Leftists protesters are the scum of the earth.

FROM A LONDON ANTI-WAR PROTEST
Of course, you got the stupid stories too. One that gets trotted out every time is the ‘protesters paid to protest’ one, as if we can’t get people along to these things otherwise. The Sunday Times claimed that students from Nottingham University told traders at the Liffe building (it’s not clear if this was meant to have happened before or after the place was trashed...) that they had been given £30, free transport and a packed lunch (!?!) to attend the Carnival. Of course, the desire was to discredit the event. The report ended with an attempt to disgust the ‘middle England’ readership, noting that the City would have to be disinfected as ‘protesters urinated and defecated in doorways’ (Sunday Times, 20/6/99)

Well, the anarchists are a different case. They are Democratic Party operatives, much like those who came to St Paul for the RNC convention. So they are exempt from scutiny.

HEY FBI, ARE YOU READING THIS? Follow the money! Who the bleep is funding these “anarchists”?

Obama and the leftist Congress has done a pretty good job of becoming anarchists themselves . . . IMHO

Astute observation.

“Everyone agrees” translates to, none will accept any position, save their own.

“Once the Chinese begin” translates to, thy ball is in the air and morphing fast, what comes next, none, not one, can guess with the slightest confidence.

The entire G…. thing started modestly enough, with a G string thing. We all could comprehend. Then there was Gs1 followed by G 5 & 8 and now 20. They converge on New Youk, party hearty, kiss each others bottoms in pecking order.

Bout all I notice was cops from god only knows where all. (outstanding opportunities for NY bank robbers?) Most behaving well and bored, hoping for a few rowdies in the motley group they seem to out number in aggregate. The visitors on the other hand seem to be lost and adrift in the entire business, and just hoping something.

Why don’t we have these affairs in Oslo or some such where all concerned are well versed in circumstance, if not pomp.

We are against G20 as much as the ‘anarchists’ claim to be, but we would not use violence at a protest. Period.
