Conspiracy Czar By: Ben Johnson
FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, September 04, 2009

IT MUST MARK A NEW LOW IN PRESIDENTIAL HISTORY when the fact that someone is a self-described Communist is not the most damning thing that can be said of a presidential adviser entrusted with federal power. Not only is Green Jobs Czar Van Jones a 9/11 Truther, but his organization believes Hurricane Katrina was a Bush conspiracy, as well. His unique combination of radicalism and irresponsibility provides a remarkable window into Barack Obama’s own radicalism.

After a string of embarrassing revelations, yesterday the press reported that Jones had joined such notable leftists as Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, and Howard Zinn in signing the 9/11 Truth Statement (signature #46), which called for a federal investigation whether President Bush knew about – or perhaps colluded in – the destruction of the World Trade Center. This is somewhat ironic, since on the evening after 9/11, Jones stood in the streets with the Maoist-communist organization he founded – Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) – to denounce the United States for having brought the disaster on itself.

To this author’s knowledge, it has not yet been reported that Van Jones also popularized the belief that Hurricane Katrina was a conspiracy. The organization Color of Change, which he co-founded after Katrina, waged a campaign to censure President George W. Bush, claiming: He knew about the levees, and he knew about the Superdome. But he did nothing.”(Emphasis in original.) In 2006, Color of Change worked with MoveOn.org Civic Action to screen Spike Lee’s film When the Levees Broke, which features allegations the federal government dynamited the levees. As one report puts it, “Lee took no side on the issue” – originally popularized by Nation of Islam minister Louis Farrakhan – but Lee made it clear in other media that he believes in the theory.

The conspiracy would be consistent with Jones’ statement last January, that “white polluters and the white environmentalists are essentially steering poison into the people-of-color communities, because they don't have a racial justice frame.”

In a 2005 blog on the Huffington Post, Jones wrote the hurricane had been exacerbated by Bush’s environmental policies and “deep contempt for poor African-Americans.”

How He Got There

Despite his radical views, he hardly sprang from a vacuum. When Jones won the San Francisco Foundation’s 2008 Community Leadership Award, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called him “one of the most innovative and strategic thinkers of our time. He is what I like to call a magnificent disrupter of the status quo.” San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom lauded him profusely. SFF, which presented Jones with a $10,000 honorarium, describes itself as “a vehicle for change.” Past SFF winners include former Congressman Ron Dellums.

Jones has also collected the Rockefeller Foundation’s “Next Generation Leadership” Fellowship and the Campaign for America's Future “Paul Wellstone Award 2008,” and was named one of the George Lucas Foundation’s “Daring Dozen 2008.”

The grant-making institutions of the Left have promoted him from a petty street Maoist to a position at the right hand of power, because leftists are heavily invested in command economics and malicious conspiracy theories.

What Difference Does It Make?

Some on the Left have parried that it does not matter what Jones’ views were, because he will only work in the area of “Green jobs.” This is true, insofar as it would be if President Bush had appointed a Posse Comitatus Holocaust denier as head of the EPA. Jones’ recent actions provide precious little comfort.

Jones has not repudiated his Hate America views, has shown no remorse, nor even registered comprehension that the agenda Maoists and other revolutionaries advanced was insidious. As recently as two years ago, he hoped his own youthful rage would inspire other “racial justice activists.” In response to Hurricane Katrina, he posted an essay he wrote following the Rodney King riots in the hope “that somehow the observations from my own generation's struggles – 15 years ago – will be of some aid and comfort to the newer generation of racial justice activists who are now mounting history's stage.”

On the contrary, Jones has made clear he is switching tactics, not goals. “I’m willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends,” he said.

Further, Jones has made clear he intends to use his position in a Fabian manner, to incrementally socialize the U.S. economy:
Right now we say we want to move from suicidal gray capitalism to something eco-capitalism where at least we're not fast-tracking the destruction of the whole planet. Will that be enough? No, it won't be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression altogether. But, that's a process and I think that's what's great about the movement that is beginning to emerge is that the crisis is so severe in terms of joblessness, violence and now ecological threats that people are willing to be both pragmatic and visionary. So the green economy will start off as a small subset and we are going to push it and push it and push it until it becomes the engine for transforming the whole society.
Knowing his background, President Obama placed him in a position to accomplish these “radical ends,” alongside the numerous other radicals the president appointed as czars. Those who insisted Obama’s longtime affiliations with Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and others would be of no consequence have a large plate of crow to eat.

For the past several months, left-wing commentators have insisted Republicans distance themselves from those who believe Barack Obama was not born in the United States. They are now in the position of defending a man who has not repudiated his belief that George W. Bush may have issued the fatwa on the Twin Towers. Such a basic failure of judgment should disqualify him from office. Certainly, Barack Obama can’t believe there is a place for such thinking in his administration, can he?

If Jones is not promptly thrown under Rev. Wright’s bus, skeptics will have their answer.

I thought it's been established (at least here in FR) that it might not have been a conspiracy, that it might just have been Karl Rove trying out the new Hurricane Machine that Cheney gave him the previous Christmas.

Obviosly, this hurricane machine is a culmination of the synthesis of both Nazi and alien technology; G. H. W. Bush’s dad was a shape-shifting alien and a crypto-Nazi; everybody knows that!

He probably believes that Bush blew up the levees because that is what many black believe. Honest to God, I have been told that by blacks. Years ago I remember a black person told me that Reagan (I think) distributed crack cocaine in the black community just to get blacks addicted. I am not in contact with any black people on a regular basis and I find it troubling that they would believe and repeat this kind of stuff. How wide spread is this kind of garbage?

We're paying the salary of this racist nut-job, who admitted he can't define a "green job" and has already wasted $ billions with zero tangible return.

If Barry qualifies as POTUS and Van Jones qualifies as our leader of ecological innovation and the driver of our prosperity through the creation of a "green" industry, then I'm "The Frikin Senior Executive Master of the Universe".

This stuff is so off the charts leftist that I hope the guy stays. There is soon to be a time when Hussein Obama couldn’t run for county dog catcher.

Obama was the most successful communist traitor mole in history. He blew it via hubris, in naming so many radical revolutionary communists as czars.

Now Van Jones will be a rotting bleeding red albatross around Obama’s neck.

How many “green jobs” has VJ created so far, with his magic job-creating wand?

The only “green jobs” his communist heros ever created involved plowing human corpses into mass graves to become fertilizer.

If that’s the plan, I don’t think it will run as smoothly as it did in the USSR, China, Cambodia etc.

All this stuff about Jones must have the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble and their ideological issue (children)-cum-Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) scratching their heads wondering, So?

Take for example, after 9/11, Jones stood in the streets with the Maoist-communist organization he founded – Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) – to denounce the United States for having brought the disaster on itself.

I can say this about the best and brightest Bee brains of the Sacramento Bee, "after 9/11, they denounced the United States for having brought the disaster on itself."

What about the 9/11 Truther "embarrassing revelations?" What about it? Howard Dean the DNC chairman said the same thing about Bush on national TV.

Bush, Katrina and race? Regularly discussed intimations on MSM at the time.

Knowing his [Jones] background, President Obama placed him in a position to accomplish these “radical ends,” alongside the numerous other radicals the president appointed as czars. Those who insisted Obama’s longtime affiliations with Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and others would be of no consequence have a large plate of crow to eat.

Only the ones on the right who dismissed the affiliations have to eat crow. The 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble and their ideological issue are just scratching their heads wondering what the fuss is about.

The 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble and their ideological issue have worked tirelessly to make this into their America -- and by golly it's their inalienable right to do so.

It is of course the inalienable right of traditional Americans to keep the traditional America.

A clash of inalienable rights means war of one sort or another.

RE: "G. H. W. Bush’s dad was a shape-shifting alien and a crypto-Nazi; everybody knows that!"

Hey! I see you've listened to George Noory and his cadre of regular guests on CoastToCoastAM excoriating Prescott Bush.

Ol' George's and his regulars really have that Bush family nailed, G.W. Bush is worst. He's a shape-shifting reptilian alien. I wonder how that happened -- oh yeah, Noory's reported that the Nazis had space ships.

Noory's finally learned to respect our president. He won't let anyone just say Obama -- he corrects them, "It's President Obama!"

(To be fair he did permit a discussion about the birthers.)

I read a crazy book wherein it detailed how the ruling elites throughout recorded history have tended to breed exclusively amongst themselves. (I agree thus far)

But the reason they did so is because the ruling elites are actually aliens who wish to keep their alien blood pure. If their alien DNA becomes diluted thier descendants lose the shape-shifting ability as well as other attributes.

Of all the people named as aliens, I only remember Bill Bennett and Prescott Bush.

Hey, sounds reasonable.

But don’t you all see that this isn’t about Jones being some kind of evil weirdo all by himself. He’s an integrated part of the Dem establishment — they are all like this.they just don’t tell you.

Only speaking for myself (but I'm sure most on FR would echo my answer) - of course I see the big picture! Hell, I grew up in Michigan around the Detroit area. Coleman Young and his black marxists took control of a once wildly prosperous city and ran it into the grave. Not too far down the road was Daily's Chicago white marxist regime. I got out of enemy territory as soon as I could support myself (thank God for Texas! In fact, that's where I met him).

I just got off the phone with a Dallas ISD teacher friend of mine. Teachers are not allowed to flunk students for chronically missing homework. They must give at least 50% for doing nothing.

I also recently spoke with another DISD teacher who's bright son (turned down a scholarship to LSU for chemical engineering) flunked out of Texas Tech for missing too many classes and partying. The school told her that if she paid a fee, her son could have his grades stricken from his transcripts (would not show up at all to another university or employer) and he could take the classes over again.

In both cases - it's bureaucrats who are willing to sacrifice an entire generation so that they can bolster their pay and the ranks of the dependents (lower level bureaucrats). In the case of the DISD - they lose Fed funding if too many kids drop out. In the case of Texas Tech, they collect a "do over" fee, 2nd tuition payment for the same class, and maintain their reputation.

There is no way for future employers to gauge the competence of incoming candidates anymore. It's all about equal results without equal sacrifice.

We're very sick.
