We were told the country was divided, the election stolen, that there were "two Americas" and a drunk frat boy barely able to speak had been selected by the US Supreme Court...yet by mid August of 2001, President Bush's approval ratings were at 57% according to Gallup.

Today we are told the country is in a new era, the election a mandate for change, that there is one America full of hope and a brilliant orator has been elected by a huge turnout...yet by mid August of 2009, President Obama's approval ratings are at 52% according to Gallup.

I wonder if the picture painted during each time period could somehow be...biased?

Despite the numbers Obama is the most popular President in the history of our Republic, period. (extreme sarcasm).

Retrospects on Bush would be interesting as well.

Here's mine: I really miss him. Class vs. crass; gentlemanly vs. Chicago thuggishness; adult vs. childish; manly vs. narcissistic; belief vs. poll-tested talking points. I could go on and on.

I mean, as in polls as to which president the respondent thinks is better.

Bush was getting all bad press and Obama is getting all the good press and support they can give. I just hope enough people see through this.

I can do that, too:

Bush = 95% approval

Obozo = 0% approval.

What adds insult to injury is that obama started out MUCH higher, so he is not only lower now, but fell much further much faster.

So a so-called (by the left) Chimp outperforms a Liberal messiah? How smart can this guy actually be?

Can't wait for the next election.

I have to assume America will be over its HOPEium buzz by then, and there WILL be a reckoning at the ballot box.

Can you just imagine how low his poll numbers WOULD be if the media was telling the truth about Obama?

Of course, we all know he never even would have been a candidate, if is was not for the media support. But the blind support now is simply incredible. There is not one thing he has done right, not one thing good for America.

And his wife, oh my, she has absolutely done nothing at all except gain weight and fly around the world and wear clothes that look like they are for rag-a-muffin dolls. by now, Laura Bush had charmed the public and put grace back into the halls of the White House - and started some of her own projects. Michelle is busy wondering what to do on date night with Zero.

let's see........Bush: a sincere, humble, soft spoken man that says what he means, oozing integrity and surrounds himself with honest, capable people.

Obama: a lying, bragging, goon that lies out of all 3 sides of his face, surrounds himself with lying criminals and incompetent hacks.

Swap the media coverage Bush got for 10 years with the adoration this marxist imbecile has been getting since '04 and we'd have Bush on Mt. Rushmore and Obama in jail.
