Former UNLV basketball player and secretary of state candidate Danny Tarkanian will run for U.S. Senate against Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Tarkanian, a Republican, posted a Web site soliciting contributions and for the position and a short biography today.
A Tarkanian campaign consultant from California declined to comment and said an announcement is forthcoming.
Is this a good or bad thing?

I’m not sure yet. Mr. Tarkanian will be on KKOH (Reno) shortly.
If he’s got his head glued on straight from a Conservative point of view, it’s excellent. If he’s another wishy washy moderate, it’s terrible. It could mean he would suck up all the oxygen in the room, so a solid Conservative couldn’t get on the fall ballot.
I hope he’s a good one.

Yup, the guy who was corrupt as the day was long with the NCAA. Same guy....and Danny jr. played on some of those teams.

This could be Plan B in case Krolicki’s legal troubles get in the way. Danny Tarkanian’s father is a legend in the state.
While I am not exactly a fan of Dean Heller (he’s like the Connie Mack IV of NV; relatively conservative voting record, but not exactly inspiring), I would support his candidacy for the Senate if it would lead to State Senator Maurice Washington of Washoe County (who I believe is term-limited in 2010) running for his U.S. House seat. Right now, Joe Pesci's character from the movie "Casino" would be better than Reid.

I think this is a good thing. But, I’m not from Nevada, so I don’t know. Anyone who can get Harry the body odor, Reid unseated has my vote - providing I could vote there, of course.
I’m OK with digging up and running J. Dahmler if it makes Reid go AWAY.
A very good thing. The name Tarkanian is legendary in NV and probably the only thing holding up Reid is the pro-gun consituents who should vote for Tark JR.
