'Obamaloo' approaching for the president?
One News Now ^ | 7/15/2009 | Chad Groening

Posted on 07/15/2009 5:26:38 AM PDT by IbJensen

A conservative media watchdog says President Obama might be following in the footsteps of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose desire for power and control led to his defeat at Waterloo.

Dan Gainor is vice president for business and culture at the Culture and Media Institute of the Media Research Center. He recently wrote a column published on the Fox News website entitled "It's Time for Obama to Meet His Waterloo."

Gainor says nearly 200 years ago the famous French emperor saw his conquest of Europe fail when he was soundly thrashed at Waterloo by the Duke of Wellington.

In the years since Waterloo, Gainor contends that battle has become a metaphor for epic defeat. He says today conservatives avoid the same kind of major confrontation with the popular Obama administration for fear of being crushed and sent into political exile like Napoleon had been.

Dan Gainor (Culture and Media Institute)"Waterloo only worked out bad for Napoleon and his guys. A lot of conservatives are afraid to challenge Obama because they're afraid they'll end up losing. But history shows otherwise," he says. "History shows when you challenge people that you can win -- then you can roll back a whole lot of things. Back in the early Clinton presidency, we saw the onrush of 'HillaryCare.' It looked like we were never going to stop it. Not only did we stop HillaryCare, but we stopped the activist presidency that was Clinton, and he was president for eight years."

Like Waterloo and Bill Clinton, Gainor believes with one major conservative victory, Obama's momentum will subside.

"It's Time for Obama to Meet His Waterloo."

Too bad the Kenyan commie didn't meet it before he was elected to the Senate by Illinois imbeciles.

Wishful conservative thinking..... America as the land of liberty is finished. We’ve crossed over the tipping point. Only cataclysm will restore the principles of liberty to a majority.

“Too bad the Kenyan commie didn’t meet it before he was elected to the Senate by Illinois imbeciles”

The 95% of blacks who voted him into office should be in this category as well as all of the apologists who wanted to give a black man a chance.

I am furious at people like Powell or even JC Watts who supported his election due to its “historical precendent”

Who gives a RAT’s A__ about that when it comes to electing the most powerful person in the world?

“It’s Time for Obama to Meet His Waterloo.”

Maybe Ted Kennedy can give him a ride.

Well, at least those Illinois idiots can sleep well knowing that Alan Keyes wasn’t their senator.

How do you like that change now, you idiots?

Only cataclysm will restore the principles of liberty to a majority.

That cataclysm may make the Civil War look like a church picnic.

What has been promulgated by Obomba and the complicit Congress is tantamount to treason.

I need to see a sign; I need to see Obama voters expressing remorse, and I don’t see that yet. True, his declining poll numbers must indicate *something*, but declining poll numbers do not always predict defeat at the ballot box.

Is his base fracturing? I don’t think so. I am completely at sea as to where the electorate is.

re: Is his base fracturing?

Did he ever really have a base, or just a lot of disjointed voters each voting for his or her own personal reason, the fewest being those who understood who he is and what he stands for?

Obamaloo for the Obamaloon.

I love it.

The loon shows us what happens when we let the teacher’s union provide us with our education.

I totally agree with you. What has gone on that would make a supporter of bigger government feel differently? Nothing has backfired yet to the degree that these folks would notice. We notice it, sure, but they wouldn't. If anything, they're probably a little disenchanted that he hasn't done more like set oil prices and clamp down on Fox and talk radio.

Further, it's not just Milhouse that these people support but the libs in Congress. You can run that generic ballot jive all you want that now Republicans are generically supported, but I don't see any change in support when it comes to living, breathing members of Congress except for the loss of support by Republican turncoats who have joined in with the RATS. Meanwhile, here in the People's Republic of New York, the leading candidate for governor next year is another big lib: Andrew Cuomo, one of the chief perpetrators of the subprime disaster. Yeah, that's going to fix things.

If remorse were out there, people would be wholesale looking to get rid of the RATS. They're not, and until they are, until you start hearing about specific RAT members who are in serious trouble, it's just wishful thinking. You will not retake Congress and the White House on wishful thinking.

Marxism is our nation's most serious threat. Schools are the Marxists' most powerful weapon.

The demoralization is complete, and yet, conservatives still keep sending their kids into these legal indoctrination camps, and pay little attention to closing down every government K-12 school in the nation

Please listen to what Yuri Bezmenov had to say about "demoralization":

I suspect the Prussian cavalry had more to do with Napoleon’s defeat at Waterloo than did an overarching ambition. Not to say that it’s not time for Obamateur to meet some “Prussian cavalry” of his own ...

They jam this dude down our throats as a historic achievement without thinking that unless we see their best we will never support this again. Granted many of us didn’t vote for a lib/socialist as we believe one person - one vote with the dead remaining dead and off the rolls.

No, it was more like that ass, Marshall Ney who led the cavalry charge, but forgot to bring along some hammers and spikes to disable the British guns.

He forgot his mission!

I can’t believe the number of conservatives who don’t recognize the following facts which are as clear as the nose on thier respective faces.

If unemployment hits 15% (and it will) Obama will not be able to cheat his way to a second term.

Unless of course he is the AntiChrist.

No, it was more like that ass, Marshall Ney who led the cavalry charge, but forgot to bring along some hammers and spikes to disable the British guns.

And forgot to bring along the infantry to break up the British squares. Or who continued on the offensive against the British despite being able to see Prussian infantry forming up on his flank. In the past armies hit hard by the French had broken and run and Ney expected the British to do the same. Instead they. Look at any major turning point and you will see an enemy that does something out of character. Some examples are the British not breaking at Waterloo, The Russians burning their own cities after Boridino, or in WWII when the US Navy seized the initiative at Midway or the 101st airborne refused to surrender when cut off at Bastone.

There is a difference between ambition and arrogance. Ambition turns to arrogance when you count not only on the abilities of your own forces, but assume that your enemy will behave in a stupid or cowardly manner. Obama expected the Russians to worship him just because he was a fellow communist, they instead punked him. He expected the Islamists to negotiate with him just because he bowed to their leaders, instead they have gone on the offensive. He expected the Chinese to continue to buy our debt despite having little chance of being paid back, they told him to pound sand. It is not Obama's ambition that will spell his end, it is his arrogance.

Well said. It is a pleasure to read a thoughtful and well-defined position.

I might add that at Gettysburg, Lee could not accept the fact that his troops could not win. I think it is called "Victory Disease", and don't get me wrong, I have profound respect for Robert E. Lee, the soldier and the man!

The MSM spouts their mantra constantly until people believe it. Why, then, can’t we constantly tell the truth, until it is heard and believed?
