Democrats Call Sarah Palin's Cryptic Resignation 'Bizarre'
NewsMax / The Washington Times ^ | July 3, 2009 | Donald Lambro

Republican Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska announced Friday that she will resign her office July 26, fueling speculation that she intends to spend the next four years pursuing her party's presidential nomination in 2012.

Mrs. Palin made her stunning announcement at her Wasilla home with Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be sworn into office at the end of the month, she said. She did not take questions from reporters and only cryptically referred to her future plans.

In her announcement, she said it "hurts to make this choice," but compared herself to a point guard in basketball.

"A good point guard knows exactly when to pass the ball so the team can win," she said. "I know when it is time to pass the ball for victory." She added the decision to step down had been "in the works for a while."

--snip--

Democrats portrayed the decision as following a pattern of "bizarre behavior" coming from the Alaska governor.

"Either Sarah Palin is leaving the people of Alaska high and dry to pursue her long shot national political ambitions or she simply can't handle the job now that her popularity has dimmed and oil revenues are down," said DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan.

---snip---

While not detailing her plans. Mrs. Palin has been building up her political warchest in recent days, even as speculation over her political future mounted.

The Anchorage Daily News reported earlier this week that SarahPAC, the governor's political action campaign, sent out an e-mail seeking new contributions from supporters, in part to boost Mrs. Palin's fund-raising totals ahead of the June 30 reporting deadline to the Federal Election Commission.(continued)

“They are angry because she has the ball back and is not telling them which way she is headed with it.”

Exactly. She is no longer a sitting target in Alaska. She is now a moving target on her own accord. When she hits her targets, it is typically lethal.

Trust me, they (the DNC and Hussien) are getting more anxious by the minute. This shocks and scares them.

Especially Hussein. Hillary to the left of him, Palin to the right. Multiple front political wars usually don’t end up victorious.

If she was corrupt and incompetent, didn't she just do Alaskan's a favor?

Yes, but you have a brain and can think. Apparently, we are in a minority amongst the populace of the US.

They are in shock, like the intrepid car chasing dog that actually catches one, it doesn’t know what to do next.

Screw them, they deserve to be lost and forgotten, I have no sympathy for those Sarah hating liberals.

Let them join a cannibalism correspondence course because eventually they will consume themselves with hate.

Dude, Hugo Chavez even joked that he was to the right of Obama. I don't think there is enough room to his left for Hillary to squeeze between him and satan.

Yeah, real bizzare... for them the norm is someone staying in office claiming they’re not running for a higher office right up to the time they they run...

When you look at this in-depth, it's a wise decision.
She was getting hit left and right with bogus ethics
charges, chicken-s--t McCain campaign staffers backstabbing her, and
the Left trashing her family.

It's not a matter of whether or not she can "hack" it, it's just stepping aside and putting the needs of the people ahead of your personal ambitions and popularity.
Now she's free as a bird, and my first recommendation for the Palins is to just completely take a dump and go on vacation or something (Psst - Door County! Door County!) and don't even think about politics.
Then come back and be loaded for bear.

WTH is so cryptic about it? It was surprising, that’s for certain. But it was far from cryptic - it was explained plainly and in terms that even a democrat could understand. Or so she thought...

I think zero announced his bid for POTUS right after the 2006 election, so he campaigned for two years?

Funny thing ... I heard Rush mention a big project and the very first thought I had when Governor Palin announced, was Hmmmmmm ..... wonder if he knew and is involved.

Probably cowinkidink .... but ... as fast and furious as speculation is flying, it is just as valid as anything else out there.

In reality, what I see is a very capapable and very intelligent executive, that has drawn 2 cards and placed amd raised her bid. I would hate to play poker with her. I suspect we have not heard the last of this woman of integrity. Or is that just my hopeful thinking .. wishing out loud.

Excellent. Ooh, can I steal that for my tagline?

Hummmmm. Rush-big project. Sarah-stepping down. Fighting from a “different” position. 2+2=new political party? Rush as spokeman and Sarah as....Sarah. I would welcome such a party.

” Hillary to the left of him, Palin to the right. Multiple front political wars usually don’t end up victorious.”

In his case, Hillary to the right of him, Palin way, way to the right. There’s not much room to the left of him, without falling off a cliff.
