On May 12, the White House withdrew the nomination of Chuck Hurley to head the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Mr. Hurley had a long record of backing hyperregulation as chief executive officer of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and as a board member of the National Campaign to Stop Red Light Running. Environmental groups reportedly opposed his nomination because he had said that increased Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards made cars less safe. Contradicting environmentalist orthodoxy carries a price.
A May 13 headline in the National Journal explained the politics of Mr. Hurley's political demise: "Enviros Forced NHTSA Nominee to Withdraw." This saga shows that even proponents of the nanny state take a back seat to greens in the Obama administration. . . . .

This Chicago gangland syndicate will bully anyone who does not fall in line. They are making me very nervous.
I live in a rural area with lots of county roads and 2-lane state highways. I used to live right next to a curvy county thoroughfare and the accidents near my property were frequent. The number of teenagers and young adults killed and seriously injured in one-car, two-car, and car-truck collisions in this vicinity has been very high, and not only because of alcohol. I lay a lot of the blame to the tinny little 4 cylinder cars that are all they can afford, or that parents give their daughters because they are cute and sporty. My three daughters all drove the family minivans. There were some minor accidents but no one got hurt.
Obama ignores Truth.
I am glad this nanny statist withdrew. He was a great danger to our freedom. In this case we can thank the enviros. Our interstes coincided.
I looked and looked for the Onion, or Scrappleface tags, but apparently this is real.
POLL SHOWS STRONG NATIONAL SUPPORT FOR RED LIGHT CAMERAS
Thats not the case in around here. A lot of people dont like the idea of getting a ticket if they arent driving. A test program was tried back in 2004, 2005. It seems to have been a money maker. "The violators pay for the system," he said. Any extra money will go to the city's general fund.

Don’t worry, the Messiah will just set a federal speed limit of 45 mph...problem solved!
I’ll have to say I am impressed to read a article in the MSM that is bold enough to outright question the environment junkies.
