UPDATED AT 5:20 P.M. Secretary of State Debra Bowen today certified the fifth recall bid seeking to oust Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
A group called Taxpayers United to Recall Governor Schwarzenegger -- headed by John D. Fusek of La Habra -- now has until Oct. 22 to obtain 1,041,530 valid voter signatures, or 12 percent of the electorate, to qualify the measure for the ballot.
It won't be easy. Gray Davis became the first California governor to be recalled in 2003, but four other recall drives against Schwarzenegger -- one in 2004, two in 2005 and one in 2008 -- have failed to obtain enough signatures to qualify.
The Taxpayers United group said in recall petitions that it wants to remove Schwarzenegger because "the governor worsened state finances by massively increasing state spending" and "raised taxes on struggling Californians."

As one of my redneck friends likes to say, "Lets get on with the rat killin'".
The only positive that can come from this, is that the Republican party will finally be rid of this faker.
Good. Arnold needs to go.
UGG
Arnold Davischnegger
its called total recall! awesome!
another recall,, another round for the house.. Ping
I’m in.
TOTAL RECALL ( ;) Good one)! That’s a good slogan to call this effort! (and remember to get your “Tax Day Tea Party” Groups, social networ involved)!
Or, as my friend calcowgirl likes to say, “Arnold Wilsonegger”. But then they all fit this phoney RINO.
It’s not going to happen.
Oh, I didn’t come up with Wisonegger! I think that was one of the creative bunch here.
I don’t know who came up with it, but I’m partial to Schwarzenfrauder.
Likely not ,, but I appreciate the passion and street theater and banter that drives it.
Haven’t run into a petition person for a while tho. looks like that may change..
My memory must be failing me—I could have sworn that was you. Oh well, perhaps one of the gang will confess...
I wish my State had recall.
I think it was Amerigomag.
I dont know who came up with it, but Im partial to Schwarzenfrauder.
I like Grovelnator Schwarzenkaiser myself.
Neighborhoods like the ones I grew up in that were once nice, middle of the road typical areas are now infested with gangs, drugs, graffiti and third world filth.
It's very sad to see what has happened to my home State
wasted effort. By October California will be dead
I totally agree with this recall.
Thanks for the drink. I’ll buy the third round. Czar has the second.
Anybody want popcorn? ;-)
lol.. good one..
did someone say SchwarzenKennedy ?
Good one! Jerk and Liar also work. :-)
I’ve definitely used SchwarzenKennedy before — but I think I stole it.
Same with the simple but to the point “The Austrian.”
Mr. Maria Shriver is sometimes also appropriate.
It’s very sad to see what has happened to my home State

I hear ya, been here 30 years plus, and then I look at my home state, Minnesota,, as liberal as any in the union, Very sad.
Where abouts are you?
the armpit of the SF bay. san jose. :)
I grew up mostly in the SF Valley and have been here in Vegas just over 8 years now....it's not much better.
Nevada does has a good business environment though
I dont know who came up with it, but Im partial to Schwarzenfrauder.
Where’s ol’ Gray Davis doing these days? maybe they get get him back in there. (LOL)
What do you mean by dead, bert?
And what happens to the state legislators? Will we continue to keep them in office? Folks, California will continue to be a basket case until the whole group of rats in Sacramento are fired.
The similarities between Pete Wilson and the Austrian are alarming. The fit was so perfect that Wilson couldn't pass up the opportunity to manipulate a popular and affable, yet woefully ignorant politcal novice, who Wilson could shaped to act as his stalking horse when the Republican Party said no to the recall in April 2003. The Austrian was the perfect tool for Wilson to gain self redemption after Wilson was cast aside by the California Republican Party in 1999.
The question is, if he’s recalled, who are we going to end up with? I wonder if Tom McClintock would still be interested in the job. Maybe it would look attractive compared to being part of a powerless minority in the Congress.
Gee, it just seems like yesterday...
