Please tell me that ship wasn’t named after the senator from CA.

Look for a stealth night time attack by a detachment of Navy Seals. They are masters at that sort of interdiction.

This is getting silly. How many US Naval ships does it take to take care of a few somalis in a dingy?

Good grief, I hope so. We look ridiculous with all of that firepower against 4 rag tag filthy savaged in a life boat. I heard on Bret Baier that the commander of Bainbridge has to take his orders from the FBI.
I’m not a military expert but that sounds insane to me.

Has Present O said anything about this yet?

AND a SEAL team or two...aircraft and the ability to put a full Marine Battalion Landing team ashore against a hostile force...and sustain them in combat for 30 days.
These big amphibious assault ships are the perfect system to use against the pirate enclaves.
They bring devastating firepower and plenty of expertise.

the USS Halyburton That's got to drive the Commie DemocRATS insane! LOL! Although it's spelled differently, they probably still think that it's a "religious right" plot.

Excellant, the pirates can be brought up on the rear ramp and brought into the rear compartment.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss sensitive ship movements.
Wow! I wonder why?
Psst, the Normandy invasion starts in 12 hours - weather permitting. But don't tell anyone!

They were not authorized to publicly discuss sensitive ship movements, but they did it anyway. OK.

wasn’t there just a sailor sentenced to 10 yrs for doing this same exact thing.

This is good, but why can’t our ships be used to PREVENT these incidents in the first place?
Why are we only allowed to REACT? And even then, with our current euro-trash president, I wonder if we’ll even be allowed to do that.
Out of respect for the sailors on this ship, I won’t say what my first thought was regarding their probable rules of engagement.

The only logical reason I can see to have 3 Naval ships off the coast of Somalia is if a larger operation is planned. I’ve read that the Somali kidnappers are holding some 15-20 ships and up to 200 hostages all in various stages of ransom negotiation. If we’re going to send in this much firepower, let’s mop the place up. Yeah, like that’s gonna happen.

Nice response, but I imagine a group of sailors and a .50 cal or two could have ended the problem very quickly after they arrived on the scene.
That’s why the captain tried to escape by jumping overboard - to give the Bainbridge a few seconds to open open on the life-boat and make short work of it.

Hmmm...sending the Boxer sounds like President Biggity may just be contemplating a decisive blow against the pirates, ashore as well as at sea. That’s a lot of firepower to send against just one little life boat. Of course, Biggity O is just getting out of the way on this one and letting our guys do their thing.
The pirates are threatening a swarm tactic with other hijacked ships and hostages merging in the area. The Boxer is the perfect response to multiple targets.
This could get good if Obama doesn’t pussy out...

They need a megaphone. All they have to do is approach the boat with the captive and pirates. Somebody gets on the megaphone and says “triple lindy in 10, 9, 8”
The pirates would not have a clue, the Captain would know what to do.
