John McCain backs Texas troop request for border

Pressure is mounting on President Barack Obama to send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, with Sen. John McCain adding his support this afternoon.

Gov. Rick Perry asked Washington last month for 1,000 National Guard troops, to free up local police and sheriffs, and federal border, immigration and customs personnel. In McCain's homestate of Arizona, Gov. Jan Brewer has also asked for troops.

In light of those requests "and the continued escalation of violence, I support sending National Guard troops to assist with securing our southern border and stemming the flow of violence spilling over into the United States," McCain said.

I still suspect that this is just theater designed to head off criticism of the upcoming amnesty bill. It will make it easier for them to characterize opponents as racists who have no legitimate concerns. McCain, as we know, is a huge proponent of amnesty.

This was tried once before with JTF6. An innocent young boy was killed. People were up in arms about the fact that military personnel were on the borders. Posse Comitatus was being screamed by all, even though the military units were there in a non-combatant status (they carried weapons for their own security).

As for a Truth File, it would be impossible for me to maintain truth files on every liberal around, let alone a former president and now private citizen.
