I still suspect that this is just theater designed to head off criticism of the upcoming amnesty bill. It will make it easier for them to characterize opponents as racists who have no legitimate concerns. McCain, as we know, is a huge proponent of amnesty.

I notice he didn’t say the guard should be armed. I’m sure he considers that ‘torture’.
