Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced the creation of a youth environmental corps tasked with protecting California's verdant ecology, while training for future employment in the emerging "green economy."
At least 1,000 young Californians in the program, aged 16 to 24, will be paid with funds from President Barack Obama's recently-approved federal stimulus plan, Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
"President Obama and I share similar priorities right now when it comes to helping the economy rebound and creating a greener California and America," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.

Hmmm, I think I remember the last time an Austrian tried that, and it wasn’t good.
It would probably be more beneficial for these boneheads to school and learn something. This “green” crap won’t last long once we elect a real president again.

Only if you are irresponsible, a problem or failing in school can you be a part of any of Obama's redistribution of taxpayers wealth.

The story is completely without specifics of what “protecting California’s ecology” would look like, exactly. Agitation/demonstrations against “polluters,” perhaps? Preventing people from clearing their land of deadfall to ensure a big brushfire season? I’m curious.

Let me guess, this is the new “moonlighting” jobs for teachers and prison guards with very powerful unions.
